Yeah, it was a bad call and all it did was make Bika fight even harder. If the ref was trying to help out Manfredo a bit that really backfired.
how many more title shots are the yanks going to chuck manfredo into before they realise he is ****.
Manfredo needs to work harder at the gym and get down to middle - he simply ain't big enough for super middle.
yeah remember this is a guy lacy went life n death with....but of course youll tell us joe ruined lacy right?
peter is done as any kind of serious contender....he can still make a decent living for a few years.....youd be suprised the amount of money this kids made over the last 3-4 years for such a limited fighter
I am happy for Bika. He deserved to win. About Bika's power, Bika is not the most powerful super middleweight, he is not a classic puncher, nor does he have one-punch knockout power, but he has very good power. Many people underrate his power for some reason. His right hand over the top, when it lands, is one of the most effective shots in the super middleweight division, because it is delivered with total commitment/abandon. What makes it particularly effective is that it tends to land to the back of his opponent's head, because Bika lunges so far forward and throws so wide: This content is protected
Great pic! I remember that fight. JC went back to his corner and asked Enzo "What do I do"? Thats the kind of fighter Bika is !!
The IBO Belt is not accepted by most fans or fighters as a real world title belt, but it might help Bika get better quality stay busy fights whilst he's trying to get another title shot. What is most important, however, is that Bika is again recognised as a threat in the division, and with the Americans knowing quite a bit about him by now, he should hopefully be involved in some big fights... It would be great to see Bika on an undercard on HBO fighting someone like Green or Lacy or Miranda or Andrade... Thanks to Versus for airing this fight; undercard was very good too!
Nah, no way, TomaTos!:verysad If he fought quite a technical fight like he did against Bute, he'd lose to Calzaghe big time; if he fought a rough, wreckless fight like he did the first time around, but had time to prepare, he'd rough Calzaghe up again, but Calzaghe would beat him even more clearly, because he'd take him seriously and box him, instead of fighting him.:good
Poor Manfredo, I guess his 15 minutes are essentially over. He just can't live up to the expectations. Hey, I still enjoyed the Contender TV show anyway!
Manfredo's too soft to be a SMW or MW; he needs to get down to WW, so he can get KO'd in his appropriate weight class.
