black eye for boxing, someone who isn't even a LMW getting a title there by not even fighting there and also by cherry picking the worst opponent for that title, a convicted cheater of a cab driver:-(
So the fighter who's giving away a huge weight advantage to his opponent is the disgrace? Ya that makes sense. I suppose SRR was a disgrace to boxing for weighing in a stone lighter than LaMotta?
I know the rule moron. The point isn't just the weight. -- Marg doesn't have the title at 154 but at least he is over WW. So how can a catchweight of 150 get the title for Pac? -- Pac wants the 154 title then why didn't he challenge a 154 title holder or a REAL contender at 150? It is all BS. The weights are just one turd in this crap sandwich.
You badly need to read more history in boxing, you'll learn that some ATG has worst catchweights (Armstrong, SRL to name a few). If you really understand this sweet science, you'll appreciate how much of a disadvantage the "weight" situation is - rather than an advantage for Pac. If anything, this is making boxing interesting rather than some claims it's a black-eye - boxing isn't as interesting and losing it's mainstream appeal in the early 00's (before Pac and Floyd made it to stardom and ODLH carrying the torch, the latter 2 are retired/inactive).
Look man, I am not knocking catchweights. If a guy has a title it is his choice to put it on the line. I am knocking a magical ranking of a fighter who was not best at 154 and then a vacant title being on the line forced into a catchweight by a guy who is under the WW limit! If Pac wins this crap it will distort boxing. Period.
Yeah like after Marquez called him out? That is right Marquez did call him out. Pac just won't answer.
WBC has some strange rules, like the SRL VS Lalonde fight for the WBC LHW & SMW belt at the same time????? SRL weighed only 165 lbs = 3 lbs under SMW limit and 10 lbs under LHW limit So this is no exception!!
Not really, but it looks suspect. If Margo earned a legit ranking at 154, then captured the 154 lbs title, then Manny challenged him, and he signed up for a CW? OK. Still a bit strange, but that is boxing. This looks like a set up.
