How the HELL can you say Shane Mosley is less overrated than Pacquiao because Pac has lost as "recently as 5 years go"? Did you forget that Mosley lost twice in a row - twice, AND lost against someone who he knocked out?

I'll tell you WHY Pacquiao is currently so exalted...it's not WHO he beat, it's the WAY he beat them. How often do you see someone knock out a top tier opponent COLD, with one shot? Nobody was saying Hatton would win, but people thought it was going to be a scrappy fight, but what did Pac do? Knock the man out cold with one of the greatest knockout shots ever landed.

Look what Pacquiao did to Cotto. Who thought he'd knock Cotto down twice, and pummell the **** out of him? Would Mayweather have knocked Cotto out that night? Could Mayweather have done that to Cotto?

I was gonna go on, but it seems like you are just fishing for an argument with this thread...

mayweather is an all time great "ducker"

didnt fight mosley (until now, when hes almost 39)
    didnt fight cotto
    didnt fight margarito
    didnt fight paul williams
damn sure didnt fight pac man

will not argue with what he did from 97 to 2001

2001- up pretty average career and above average waste of his prime

I didnt say Shane was less overrated bro. Im saying Shane has been a great fighter his whole life. He was even an olympic star for the United States. Pacquiao was never an Olympic star for his country. People was asking for Pac to join the 2008 Olympic team, lmao!!!! Dumb azz people he had been a pro for 13 years then. Nobody was asking for him to represent the Phillipines before then.

    it was there.

Realise that Morales was himself a top p4p fighter, that Pacquiao had just moved up to 126 in late 2003, and then in early 2005 moving up in weight AGAIN and taking on Morales a top p4p fighter in his first fight at this once again new weightclass. Morales who was established at the weight and had won already 2 titles at SFW.

Factor in that Pacquiao got cut above the eye in round 5 by a clash of head, that he fought the rest of the fight with that cut.

And then look at the official scorecards, or just watch the ****ing fight. Not a one sided beatdown. Not a domination as so many people put it. A competitive but definately clear win for Morales that was later avenged by Manny in emphatic fashion, twice.

the talent was there, alot of people just can't see.

If it wasn't, that would've been a KO for Morales.

Pacquiao is the greatest fighter of all time. If he was a little bigger, he would've destroyed Robinson and Hearns. If you created a boxer in Fight Night, and jacked up all of his attributes to the highest level, you would get a fighter half as good as Pacquiao. It would take a truley special fighter to beat this modern marvel in his current form.

I always stop reading when anyone says something like this.

Sugar Ray Robinson lost 19 fights, Ali lost 5 and Leonard lost 3 times - They must be **** as well!

Go back to playing Fight Night if you think protecting an 0 is the way you measure greatness.

Dude you bringing up Cotto is my point exactly!!! He has become great after 2008!!! Cotto got the worst azz beating of his life before he fought Pacquiao. He lost in 2005 to Morales, come on man thats not Great at all.

He lost a close fight, then came back and stopped him twice.

    What's your point?
