I really don't think jmm has the power to hurt pac but we all know that pac could hurt jmm. i'd say jmm will taste the canvass a couple of times in this match. jmm may win more rounds than pac around 7-5 is very plausible but then the knockdowns will be a huge difference, just like the last time.

    pac close ud

MAB retreats alot now. I don't think it has anything to do with his power not hurting, it's just what he does. He did it against Pacquiao, Marquez AND Juarez. His power though is well documented, and even Pacquiao claims that MAB hit him harder than anyone else.

Yes, Pacquiao only moved his head for the sake of moving it before.....but that was years ago. He has learned some head movement since then. He has some movement both foot and head wise now. Not alot, but enough to not get hit like he used to.

Keep in mind that in fight one, it was a matter of JMM not guaging Pac's ability to land that left hand of his from so far back.....
Marquez said, "I did'nt think Pac's left would get to me from so far back.

Knowing that JMM was never even close to being dropped again after the first round, you still think that Pac will drop him a couple of times during the fight.
After the initial first round, Pac looked more vulnerable to getting dropped than JMM by the way Marquez would snap Pac's head back.

What makes you think Pac will score knockdowns on his way to a decision?

kg and Underdog, if my questions come off as criticism, believe me it is not. I respect a reasonable posters opinions......I just want to get a guage on why you guys make a certain statement, and what is the reason and thought process behind it!

I was referring to instances where both had there feet planted and threw power.....the fighter that gets sent back from those types of exchanges is usually the less stronger of the two.

.....and in fight one with Juarez, Mab was alot more willing to exchange with Juarez and he paid the price as Juarez was getting the much better of those inside exchanges......not so with Juarez against JMM.

The rematch with Juarez for MAB is a whole different scenario......it was essentially a survival fight that MAB fought, with MAB clearly being able to outpoint Juarez who just cant cut-off a ring to save his life.
Rocky has cement feet, he cant move them.

.....but strictly powerwise, as was proven in fight one with MAB, Juarez clearly showed his punches hurt MAB much more than MAB hurt him.

pac was vulnerable to getting dropped? i don't think so divac. sure. his head was flying around like it wasn't attached well to his neck but never did i see pac a visibly wobbled throughout that fight. jmm gave pac his best shots and pac walked right through them, his faced looked like **** after the match but at least he never left his feet.

you mentioned that jmm will now know how to defend against the straight left but we all know that pac has developed other punches. not as lethal as his left straight but also quite effective. if jmm adjusts well to pac's new combos, then he has a real chance of winning.

i still think pac will drop him though.

anyway, i never saw your posts as criticisms. it has been fun reading your thoughts and sharing mine. we will know who is correct come march.

i hope there are no excuses come march. :good

I placed my prediction in the other similar thread.

Just to summarize Pacquiao will be unable to box with Marquez as it will be the first strategy Pacquiao will use. JMM takes away the straight left and make sure he wrestles with the right and landing all sorts of punches. With Pacquiao unable to take the lead in points he will revert back to his 1-2 style later in the fight which he will find ineffective as well. JMM boxes his way to a clear decision.

No better way to put my thoughts on this rematch.

The thing here is, Pac will bring the fight to JMM. For 12 rounds.

A late TKO or a UD for Pac.

Given the result of their last fight, I expect a very motivated and dangerous Pac to come out. That being said, I think JMM has never taken a fight seriously before as this one so we can certainly expect that best he could possibly be right now.

The first minute will be 2 guys measuring each other out, after that JMM will get brave and try to use his aggresive style to try backup Pac. Pac will backup but return with fire and it will look like somewhat a slugfest. Seing as a slugfest is the last thing JMM wants, he will revert back into being a counterpuncher. It is in Pac's nature to seem to want to fight how his opponents are fighting him so if JMM is boxing him, thats what Pac will do. Pac will win the 1st round but loose the 2nd. On the 3rd round Pac will become more effective with his counters mixing it up with some aggresiveness....once he sees he can really bully JMM around he will be playing the aggresive boxerpuncher for the rest of the fight.

Its quite simple, JMM has his moments and wins a few rounds simply doing what he does best, but Pac's pressure will be too much. Unlike last time, JMM will wear out first because Pac will be landing more often and you just cannot afford to be tired against Pacman. By the 10th round clear signs of JMM being slower, more gassed and getting hit alot more often leads to a TKO victory for Pac on the 11th. One thing Pac cannot do is fight weary, if he does that it will be a clear victory for JMM.

Pac brings quite a few new things to the table, mainly a better tactical mind. What I mean by that is he wont be throwing 1-2 for 12 rounds just because thats all he knows, he will mix up his strategies and find the one that works for him. Its not hard to find it, he will either have success being the boxer-puncher and win close rounds or he will simply be able to maul and run JMM over with his brawling tactics. His overall little improvements in his boxing skills will also help him land that 1 or 2 extra punches per round and seing how close the last fight was, 1 or 2 punches was enough to sway the round in his favour. JMM really doesnt bring anything new, the only thing he brings is the knowledge of what Pac really can do therefore have prepared much better and that is a great advantage.

One fighter being hurt more by another isn't always an indication of who hits harder, but also of who takes punches better and who has better legs.

All I can say is that Pac fights along the lines that you're predicting....boxing for long stretches in the fight, we're going to see an easy night of work for JMM.

As it is now, I'm looking at a clear, but hard fought victory for JMM, but if Pac is foolish enough to try and box with JMM. I think you'll find that Pac will look like an amatuer in comparison.

Pac outboxes a scared MAB, and all of a sudden he's going to have success with a master technician who is not at all afraid of being in range to counter.
Range people, Pac will have to exchange boxing technicalities of both hand and feet with JMM while at range. Thats where Pac is going to get mastered.
While MAB was afraid to be at range, that clearly will not be the case with JMM, as there is nothing that transpired in fight one between JMM and Pac to say otherwise.

Pac boxing with JMM?
It would be the equivalent of Ricky Hatton using a boxing strategy to try and beat Mayweather Jr.

Next thing we'll know is that because he was successful in boxing Jameel Mcline, Samuel Peter's key to victory against Wlad Klitshko, would be to box him!:patsch

Listen people, Samuel Peter has improved as a boxer. He outboxed and overpowered a fat and shop worn James Toney. He came off the canvas and outboxed Jameel McCline.
But to expect Peter to use the same strategy that worked for him against Toney and McCline, and apply it against a Heavyweight like Klitshko who is clearly the superior boxer, would be boxing suicide as far as a strategy is concerned.

The same applies to Pac vs JMM!

Yea I think so too. Right before Black left he kept talking **** about him being french, and behold heres some knew poster who is "old fashioned french" and has a noticeable bias against Pac.

N/E way to the thread question

I think Jmm can outbox Pac and win by descision

    Here's my take...

Right now, Pac is in his prime, and has a lot of added weapons on his arsenal. The obvious ones being the development of his right hand as a potent weapon and significant improvements of his defense. It's already given that he can punch and never lost that speed. And with Freddie Roach still in his corner, Pac will surely get sound advice before and during the fight.

On the other hand, JMM is still the excellent counterpuncher he has always been plus all the additional tools(boxing skills. stamina etc.) that made him one of the best featherweight in years. His left hook is superb too. And a very versatile one to boot. He can fire it short and compact or long and wide.

Nevertheless, I figured that JMM has slipped a bit throughout the years. Add the fact that he has had draining wars with Pac and MAB, plus he also took some damage on the Jandaeng and Jaca fights. That will take a toll especially on someone who is on an advanced age.

Lastly, their match of styles. Okay, Pac performed poorly against MAB. He failed to get the KO a lot of people were expecting. I concede that. And I won't use his lack of preparation as an excuse here. But you can make a case for MAB not willing to risk his mug for his last fight and became much more cautious and unwilling to exchange than he should. Thereby leading to his clear-cut defeat.

What's that got to do with JMM? Well, IMO, skillwise, MAB is a much better boxer than JMM. JMM tends to stand more in front of his opponent and wait for the opportunity to counterpunch. And that put's him on his opponent's punching range. That's also the same reason why his first fight with Pac ended up in a stalemate. Whether you believe he won or not, you have to admit that he took a lot of punishment and was also damaged when the bout ended.

Lastly, I figure that JMM is much more vulnerable than MAB and EM. Pac dropped him thrice. He even was in deep trouble after MAB dropped him hard.

That would be a problem for him the next time as Pac has, as mentioned earlier, an expanded arsenal. The speed that troubled him the last time will still be there too. And Pac can go downstairs much more often now thereby giving JMM much more confusion.

Unless JMM unleashes something that I still haven't seen before, I'd say Pac by close but unanimous decision.
