Pac's power and speed overwhelms JMM's ring brilliance.

We might see here the real age of JMM. And then by that, we will hear the sad-old age excuse that he is, indeed, past his prime now..:tired

Thanks, and all that I'm pointing out is Pac's improved defense (and utilizing his right hand). Though not as much, but still remarkable. It's better than no defense at all against a fighter of JMM's caliber.

I respect your opinion and I want to comment in the points I disagree with.

First thing, Barrera is not a better boxer than Marquez. JMM was getting the better of him in their fight, he was always adjusting, keeping the pace with MAB and then landing the extra punches that gave him the rounds. It is the general concensus that Marquez grabbed 8-9 rounds.

In case you forgot JMM was giving him hell before he got dropped by a great punch. There is not a single moment in that entire fight where Barrera could find all the spots to land combinations the way Marquez did in the 7th.Then MAB took the next round after but not by a wide margin. Even Morales showed he was a better boxer than Barrera in their second fight.

Yes, Marquez has slipped a bit, but not in great significance. His two fights with Pacquiao and Barrera do not even begin to compare to the weight of wars through the careers of Barrera and Morales.

Look at what the 3 best counter-punchers in the world have in common, Mayweather, Hopkins, and Marquez all have an impecable defense. These 3 guys have not been hit as much as their counterparts through out their whole careers. They don't just stand there to be hit. Mayweather uses his quick foot work to get out of danger and slips most punches in his highly effective shoulder roll. Hopkins employs all sorts of tactics, even if they are dirty and boring to negate his opponents offense and almost always finds the sweet spot for his counter because he has his opponent exactly where he wants to. Look at what Marquez does in the first Pacquiao fight. Thats a prime example of his movement, he is always half stepping and hands held high, when a punch comes in he takes the full step back or to the side and you know what happens then as he is a very fluid combination puncher.

As of late he has become more aggresive to get noticed and more pleasing to the fans so of course he gets hit more often than before. Now that he has landed the fight he wants, there is no pressure to be doing that here.

I am sorry that you feel that Marquez needs to show you something new and spectacular to be able to beat Pacquiao. He already has everything he needs, its all there for everyone to see.

The way you sound, you seem to be super duper impressed with JMM's boring win over Rocky Juarez last time around. You might even call it spectacular win! :huh

If JMM shows up with that kind of performance only, pac has nothing to worry about. :yep

if in the later rounds JMM decides to exchange punches then it's going to be an exciting fight.

For the fight not to be boring, i hope he does not adopt what Mab did. Just to survive instinct or mode. I've never seen Mab back pedalled so much until his last fight. i don't blame him. You don't want to end your career on a KO, do you?

Let me echo the sentiments of 4rounder on your feeling that MAB is the better boxer than JMM!
Let me say that JMM and MAB or different types of boxers. MAB may be a little bit better in dancing away and jabbing in the process.
....that however is not the type of offense to nuliffy what Pac does well.
When you're dancing around and jabbing, you give Pac a chance to come at you with a full head of steam.
What JMM is alot better than MAB at doing is to actually sit in the pocket and take the half step to full step to either side and then punch back on the counter.
What makes JMM much more difficult to defend than what MAB brings to the table is the variety in JMM's punches at his disposal.
You name the punch and JMM can throw it with great effect with either hand.
MAB for instance was'nt quite as adept with his right hand which is very effective against southpaws.
.....add to that is that Marquez is able to vary the angles in which he throws his shots depending on where his is able to put his opponent as he's backstepping and angling.

JMM and MAB box differently, obviously against Pac, JMM's style is more suited to expose Pac's weaknesses. That has been proven!

Lastly, I think you're greatly exaggerating JMM's vulnerabilty because he got dropped three times......
.....and in deep trouble against MAB??????:huh Marquez was dropped, but how hurt was he that he did'nt fully hit the deck, and MAB took another illegal swipe at him, and JMM was still clear headed and not stumbling.
.....even the Pac knockdowns....not once was JMM's legs gone in those knockdown.
It can even be said they were almost like flashknockdown, in that Marquez never showed signs that his legs were not under him.
Through these knockdown, not once has JMM wobbled!

My point is that JMM's chin is not a vulnerability, its just as solid as Pac's!

You've never seen MAB backpedal so much???

You must have missed the Rocky Juarez rematch.....MAB did more backpedaling in that fight than he did against Pac!

I think you are under the impression that I have only seen two fights of Marquez, which is not the case.

The strategy used on Juarez will not be the same one with Pacquiao, you should know that already. So I don't know what you want to argue here.

There is also nothing that indicates that Marquez will fight similarly to Barrera, who was just content with calling it a career after the sixth round and collect a big check after the fight.

MAB used exactly the same strategy in his rematches with Juarez and Pac.....the only difference is that Juarez' ability to pursue a moving target was and is **** poor.

Juarez needs to have his feet planted firmly to the canvas to throw punches, thus when you move against him, its as if his his feet are stuck in mud.

It was exactly the same gameplan, the only difference was that since Juarez was clueless as how to go about hitting a moving target, MAB's jabs got the job done on the scorecards.

Make no mistake however....MAB never put mustard on his punches in his rematch with Juarez. He fought a very cautious fight, proof being the crowd in attendance who were booing!

The intent imo was the same vs both Juarez and Pac.
Box safely and take as few risks as possible.
It happened to workout as far as victory for MAB against Juarez, but I highly doubt that had Juarez been outworking and outhustling MAB as Pac did, that MAB would have changed his strategy against Juarez.

JMM lets not forget had recent hand injury before his last fight with Rocky juarez. Also I feel JMM is not as fast with his hands as he was four years ago. MP by mid to late stoppage.

Had MAB's cautious approach not worked in his rematch with Juarez, are you of the opinion that he would have reverted to the same approach he used when he got repeatedly hit hard in his initial fight with Juarez?
Do you believe he would have taken the fight to Juarez had his running style not worked?

Btw, the intention in both rematches with Juarez and Pac were to win......MAB tried to use the blueprint set by JMM and then Morales to befuddle Pac, but he did'nt have the tools necessary to see it through, (specifically a right hand that more often than not works against southpaws.)

MAB was unwilling to change his strategy and force a strategy that got his ass handed to him prior with Pac.
Its likely that the same would have held true had his running and jabbing strategy not been effective vs Juarez.

......thus imo the intention was the same in both his fights with Juarez and Pac!
Imo, in those rematches, MAB had a plan A, his desire was for plan A to work.....his plan B would have been what he did previously that got him hammered.
MAB was unwilling to go there.

We could do all the endless talking may it be logical or illogical, endless theory, conspiracy(?), thoughts, predictions, analysis, hypothesis, funny remarks, under the belt comments, etc.

One's thing for sure, Pac GLOVES will do a lot of talking.

One lessen he learned from his lost to Morales is not to underestimate the opponent. After the Morales loss, ALL WIN ZERO LOSS FOR PAC.

Contrary to what some JMM fans believe, PAC will be there come March 15 fully prepared. It does not matter if JMM trained earlier. What is important is that Pac TRAINED enough for the fight both mentally and physically.

    cheers!

Manny Pacman will beat JMM depending on his training attitude..Concentrate more and I do believe JMM will experience the worst in his boxing career as what happened to EL TERIBLE MORALES.If it goes up to 12 rds. then JMM will
possibly get it by decision..pacman by k o in 7 to 10th round.
