I don't count that as impressive in the slightest tbh. Margo was a punch bag that night.

It genuinely baffles me when people rate that as a great victory.

In all honesty it was impressive, but it wasnt a great win.

This is exactly what I'm talking about in my other post. Devolving into fan boy nonsense, trying to get emotional responses.

See I'm not a fan of Pacquiao, in that fight I was rooting for JMM due to the way the 3rd fight went.

I jumped off my sofa when that counter punch landed. I've probably watch that video more times than you have.

Marquez is a great fighter who couldn't beat Pacquiao when he was in his prime. But a past prime Marquez was able to knock out a past prime Pacquiao.

    Those are just facts.

I wasn't impressed at all. I expected Pac to dominate, and he did.

Not without a price. That meaningless fight took something out of pac that night. The size and strength was apparent especially early on.

It was outstanding and must be factored into analysis of his all time standing.

I think he won every time they fought he just made sure he put his lights out in the 4th so the judges could not rob him again.

If you rate Pac as a top 10 ATG then you must rate PBF as greater since he was also fighter of the decade was more dominant more skilled and has better wins than Pac mainly Pac himself and Canelo.
With that said neither Pac or PBF are top 10 ATGS IMO.

Huge boost for the rating of Marquez, but doesn't stoo Pacquiao being one of the greatest fighters of all time.

Lots of greats have been iced.

These guys I rank above Pacquiao have all been knocked out numerous times during their careers:

Fitzsimmons was knocked out a bunch of times.
    Armstrong was knocked out twice
Charles was knocked out a bunch of times
Langford was knocked out a bunch of times.

And none of them were knocked out by fighters I consider greater than them.

In fact just looking at more modern greats, a whole host of them have been knocked out by fighters, who aren't as great as them:

Arguello was knocked out by Pryor.
Leonard was knocked out by Camacho
Louis was knocked out by Schmelling.
Moore was knocked out by a whole heap of people.
Hopkins was knocked out by Smith Jr.
Jones Jr was knocked out by a whole heap of people.
Holyfield was knocked out by Bowe and Toney
Tyson was knocked out by Douglas
    Lewis was knocked out twice

I could go on and on but I think my point is clear.

Right so you think Marquez didn't want to knock Pac out the first three times. It's not that he couldn't because Pac was younger and more prime. He was just being nice.

You get nervous and aggressive when your boy Floyd is put in his place.
Pac punched well above his stature, nearly always fighting the bigger boys, and usually winning. Pac fought a lot of fights. He lost some as all those who dare to be great often do. He also got poor decisions against him, e.g. Horn and Bradley I to name a couple.

His accomplishments are legendary and history will recognize them as such. The greatest of his generation bar none.

This isn't a thread about Floyd.

I don't think I'll ever again witness a legitimate champion at FLW go on to become a legitimate champion at WW.

    What Pac achieved was amazing.

We were pretty much dead even. Trading off the lead every few days. But yeah, I benefited from several hundred likes during that idiotic debacle, which I couldn't stand. That being said, that was back when we were all around 5000 likes ahead. I think I've separated myself from the pack since then.:sisi1 But yeah, you definitely got screwed at the time.
