to me Manny Pacquiao's career is based more so on HOW he beat people along with the myth that he's this smaller guy Pacquiao at lightweight was basically coming into the ring the same size as Broner is now but my break down goes like this. His best and wrost win at WW is Clottey it's his best because even though he didn't get the decision he deserved the victory over Cotto, at the same time it's his worst because of how the fight played out with people talking about he fight looking fixed.
I'll admit from a causal standpoint it was impressive how he blew through de la hoya,hatton and cotto, but really Cotto with basically no real trainer coming off a beat down against margarito, what was a give me fight for a vacant title against jennings and what should of been another loss to clottey effectively going 1-2 heading into that bout not to mention personal problem with his dad dying that was really the worst Cotto.
De La Hoya who looked like a skeleton folks hang on the "he was supposed to be too strong" angle but dismiss the fact that most people that were picking him were basing it on the thought that he would be healthy and around 160+ on fight night like he was against floyd if you would have told anybody that come weigh-in Pacquiao would be the bigger man no one would make that pick not manny's fault but still.
Marquez was looked at as a mismatch only reason he is now looked at as a good opponent is because he pretty much proved that pacquiao was the same fighter he always was and never really improved hatton had just got ko'd and looked bad in the fights he took which were supposed to be confidence builders still he gets my respect because you still have to fight the fights.
I'm not one of those guy's that bash manny in an attempt to big up mayweather just giving my opinion because mayweather by no means has fought h.o.f. competition at welter but the one thing I give him credit for over manny is at least the people he was matched up against were WINNING/CHAMPS and to me that my biggest knock on em he still had to fight the fights and I don't mind the names on pac resume but EVERY single one of his biggest opponents were coming off of TERRIBLE performances or LOSSES.
People say he's so great he beat the mexican trio but the only one that mean anything to me is Barerra I he has NEVER beaten marquez so i don't even see how he counts as a great victory and when he caught moralas he was in the mist of a 1-6 streak EVERTIME pacquaio fought erik he was coming off a lost and only once was that lost against pac that **** is ridiculous that you can be looked at as a great champ but out of all of your big time wins not one of those guy's had a meaningful victory in years going into the fight

And Margarito weighed more against Pacquiao then when he kicked Cotto's ass. You guys make it sound like the fight is decided at the weigh in. They were basically fighting the same guys. A few pounds here or there was not going to change anything.

His win over Oscar was monumental as he jumped all the way from lightweight after only one fight there. His dominations over cotto and clottey showed just how great a talent he really was offensively speaking. Mosley a cherry pick but did still hold a rating. The two Marquez fights he lost and losing to a great fighter like Marquez holds no shame.

He deserved to beat Bradley in his best ww performance in years.
