Because it would require a little something called integrity with a dash of masculinity.

Some people actually think refusing to admit you were wrong is manly.

Let me get this straight. You are saying the likes of Ossie Ocasio, Lorenzo Zanon, Lucien Rodriguez and Scott Frank don't strike fear into your heart?

Terrell was losing a fight a year at that time. The loss to Williams was his turning point. Everything good came later.

Wayne Bethea also beat Terrell but nobody questions that Terrell obviously later got better regarding this result. Nobody.

Same with that other guy Johnny Gray that Terrell twice lost to during this period.

But Williams beats him and it’s a signature win for him alone.

As rated fighters Terrell beat Williams. That counts more.

Only two men stopped Terrell big punching Jeff Merrit in Terrell's last fight and Williams.
"I know all about Williams he hits like a truck"
Bethea did not beat Williams ,Williams beat him just prior to beating 8th ranked Miteff.
Terrell wasnt losing a fight a year he had lost 3 fights in his 5 year career at that time.

I have re- edited the post. Obviously I meant Bethea beat Terrell. Nobody is celebrating Bethea over it.

Terrell lost once in 1958, once in 1959 and once in 1960. His first fight of 62’ he lost to Williams. It is roughly once every year by my count.

The loss to Williams was his turning point.

Not once in every year if he lost just 3 times in 5 years is it?
I suppose it depends how honestly you word your post?

Also untrue. Terrell won his first fight of 62.

Terrell beat Williams by split dec in their rematch he then beat the likes of Folley,Lincoln,Foster,Machen, Chuvalo,Jones ,remaining unbeaten over the next 5 years, until he lost to Ali .Yet Williams stopping him, and holding him to a split decision means nothing?

Odd thing is Marciano is twice as skilled as Ruiz. Ruiz can’t cut a ring off. Ruiz doesn’t use feints. Ruiz doesn’t throw many punches a round. Ruiz is defenseless (besides a pitiful bob and weave side to side that’s he’s limited in doing because of his weight). Ruiz also can’t touch his toes. But I suppose when you’re 280 you’re gonna have great balance...always have that

Ruiz is nothing special, but his hands are always in position, and they are fast for a man his size,he also takes a decent shot.He doesn't panic when he is under attack he retaliates instinctively .How good he could be if he had Rocky's work ethic ,who knows?

My apologies, It was the second bout of 1962.

But there was less than a year between the first two fights Terrell lost and 16 months between the second and third loss. Kind of evens out as one loss a year doesn't it?

Either way, your talking about a prospect who has not quite found his feet.

Like I said before, nobody is celebrating Wayne Bethea’s for his win over Terrell.

All 4 of you should learn how to read and buy a dictionary - then read the article that says SEVERAL minutes- not under a minute like you all stated also Satterfield gave away 25lbs - Get your pink panties out of the bunch - the point is your HERO is overrated but FACTS take time to overcome emotions so I will allow you guys time to digest the facts and dry the tears of truth from your eyes- I dont think Big Cat had a good defense- good chin- any substantial KO wins over quality contenders so stop the hyperbole - your impressed because BC had nice muscles - get over it girls - Facts don't lie

Well done, This is the crux of it. Too overcome with admiration for the wrong guy. I couldn’t have said it better myself.
