If Rock comes in heavier, you can no be sure tha the will be as fit as he was if he were weighing 185 lbs. I am sure he has good rason why he stayed lean-probably for superior stamina.
not true rocky fought a guy who was 229, 220, and 254 i hate people who hate on the rock. tis garbage. he beat the best of his era thats all you can ask of a HW. not to mention the testimonials of his foes who said he broke bones and blood vessels and said they have never been hit as hard as he hit them. the guy chipped bone on lastrazas elbows i believe. he fought with a SPLIT NOSE. you name me a fighter these days that wouldnt panic/freak out. the klit bros? haha rocky was a good champ in his time and the experts and FORMER BOXERS who put on the gloves, rank him in the top 10 haters can kiss it he also fought at a time HW's were small.
dam good post rock use to punch them any where he could land his old trick would be hitting te arms if they covered up so in the later rounds thyey couldn't hold them up any more im suprised that no one does that today. the man made all of his punches count
i didnt say you hated on rocky, tuaman im just talking bout haters in general and yes i agree the gmen arent the best team of all time, we just played a great game at the right time. ive been a fan of the gmen since eliwas drafted. i never thought wed pull it off although i felt the SB was up for grabs seeing how when we played them the first time they, in reality, were getting beat and we gave up the game. i think rocky would have fared well up untill the 70's different training regimens and methods he would have been a 200 pound HW. his power was good enough to keep peole honest. when ali and him were sparring he knocked ali over with a body shot. a body shot. ali hardly went down in his career from a punch to the head, let alone a body shot. i dont know if rocky would beat guys like ali, foreman, fraizer, etc. all i know is he'd give people fits.
George Foreman won the Heavyweight championship in 1973, before the Steelers won anything. Foreman won another championship in 1994, one year before Brett Favre won his first MVP. Brett Farve just retired in 2008 on the heels of a pretty darn competitive season. Lets go back even further for a direct connection past to present. Cassius Clay won his first title in 1964. In 74' , as Muhammad Ali, he KO'd Foreman. As stated before Foreman wins a title in 1994. So Ali has a direct link to the championship from 1964 to 1994 since he beat the 1994 champ George Foreman.
It's just a guess, but I think Frazier's size advantage would play a part, and he might stop Marciano late on accumulation. My thinking is that Frazier was a little better inside fighter - displaying greater head movement and shorter punches in close. But then again, Marciano got better as the fight went on as you said. Frazier could get dropped by a Marciano right.
Marciano hit harder with both hands then frazier, even left. Marciano had better chin, more stamina, and was just better all around than Frazier. As for the size freaks, they were an inch apart in hieght, 10-15 pounds in weight. That's nothing once you get to 175 and up.
