Antwaun Taylor Tubbs - son of WBA heavyweight champion Tony "TNT" Tubbs - was last seen getting KO1ed by Curtis Harper on Country Box 21. His opponent is Kashaun Davis - phonetically almost identical, but different spelling from ironically also 25-year-old and also unbeaten prospect Keyshawn Davis, who did not in fact jump up to HW.

Forestal is a Cuban southpaw whose only pro defeat to date was a DQ for roughhousing (every foul in the book, from the sound of it). Rodríguez is a 38 year old fellow lefty from New Jersey whose biggest win also happens to come via DQ - when a then-undefeated Avery Sparrow repeatedly landed low blows on him in 2015.

 

Don't bother tuning in until at least 8pm EST. If history serves as any indicator, it's just going to be commercials for Lee Greenwood's version of the Bible on a loop. And then even right at 8 it won't be boxing right away; they start with a short set of country music.

 

Marc Abrams is interviewing Mike "The HonkyTonk HitMan" Rodgers - a former pro boxer and country singer who I believe is also the co-organizer of these CountryBox shows (with Christy Martin). He says he guided Kashaun Davis to a few Golden Gloves through his Music City Gym in the amateurs. He confides that Davis has put on sixteen pounds since his last fight in July (confirmed on BoxRec, up from 288½ versus Darryl Clark to 304½ at yesterday's weigh-in) - quipping that he "didn't skip any Thanksgiving leftovers".

Ramos is a pale, unkempt, feral looking dude - and the fact that he is crouching in corner awaiting the opening bell like some kind of animal doesn't help with the impression that they just scoured the Smoky Mountains for some barely civilized hillbilly to toss in here with their prospect.

DeMichael Anthony Harris vs. Weusi Imaan Arshad Johnson, 6 rounds @ lightweight

 

Weusi Johnson is 3-35-1 but has only been stopped in fourteen of his 35 losses...and only thrice in the first round. Harris has already scored two knockdowns in the first two minutes, seems about to become the fourth.

 

The ref let Johnson reach the bell even after a third knockdown.
