Yeah, might be another Roy Jones-type situation. In his prime, Jones was SO great, his shaky chin didn't matter. But once his ATG-level athletic ability started to desert him, it was goodnight. Might be the same with Mayweather.....
Mayweather is 36 and has been fighting for 17 years. If you still think he's hiding glass, then what makes you think that you'll find out soon if that's true?
He wasn't hiding any china, he's just been sparked off a real banger. Thing is though he was massively over rated and I don't see why he was rated so highly.
How exactly was Mares over rated?.. He's consistently fought top opposition and has shown the ability to adapt to certain styles... For example look at Mares' performance vs PDL and Broners. The latter is massively over rated, he has the skill to potentially be great but not the resume.. atsch.. So many of you so called boxing fans seem clueless about the sweet science... If you've never boxed/sparred a round in your life then cool it with the chin talk because you keyboard warriors would get sparked
It's 100% the same with May. Dude's who don't grow up taking shots, can't take repeated huge shots when it becomes time. Think about, dude's with chins.. tended to get hit flush a lot.. they learned how to deal with it.. guys like RJJ? He never took shots.. never adjusted.
Vic Darchinyan was hitting him with bombs and didn't score the KO. Mares was the naturally smaller fight vs a true featherweight.
