Landed percentage means jack for Margarito because most of the time he is hitting arms and gloves anyways. The purpose of doing that is to wear your opponent out. So what if 15% is landing clean. That 15% on top of another 70% that is hitting Cotto's arms and gloves is what will wear him out for the finish.
He needs 1000+ to wear out his opponent. Cotto's boxing ability will make a huge difference here. Against Cotto, Margo wont throw that many punches. I expect him to be around the 500 to 700 mark since Cotto will be moving backwards, side to side, not giving Margarito and chances at going off. In short, Cotto wont stand in front of Margarito.
Didn't you once praise Margarito for his record-breaking volume of punches against Clottey, like 1600+ punches? Seems like Compubox stats are quite ok when it suits you. p.s. you seem to have a fixation with homosexuality. Perhaps is it that you're insecure with your sexuality?
Because Cotto hasn't stood in front of other opponents? Cotto is not the guy you think he is. Not looking at his history anyways. He fought Torres in a phone booth. He fought Corley in a phone booth. He fought Abdulaev basically in a phone booth...Hell even against Mosley whenever Mosley wanted to trap Cotto he did. He didn't have to worry about that. What he didn't do was trap Cotto late, not enough. He just didn't do enough. Judah never goes after opponents beyond the first 3 rounds. So those two fights don't even really matter. Infact, I can't think of one legitimate reason (fight) that leads me to believe Cotto will not fight in a phone booth in this fight. Not one. Especially if Margarito utilizes his jab. Cotto will have no choice but to make it an inside fight.
1) Whoever has referred to the 1600 does so as a reference point. Margarito throws alot of punches. He set a record. That is the point. Exact figures has nothing to do with anything. That's common sense. atsch 2) **** off. I don't come here to interact with you, stalker. 3) There are ZERO posts where I, san rafael, have referred to 1600 punches. NONE. I couldn't find any. ZILCH.
Pretty sure though that Cotto intends to bring this fight in the phone booth though it's clear that he can't afford a straight-up approach against Margarito. He'll need to throw Margo off balance (with movement and fakes) and from there seek opportunities to move inside the jab.
Thanks for the clarifications. It's nice of you, san rafael (lol), to admit your sexual insecurities.
That is what I was thinking he'd do too. Cotto likes to set his feet before punching though. He's not too keen on throwing those "just scoring" punches inside. I think he will set his feet against Margarito. That should buy Margarito more than enough time to get those uppercuts off. The thing that will really screw Cotto is if Margarito has a solid jab opening up. Cotto's best shot would be to feint his step and pull that jab so he can fire a right hand over it. But then he's gonna fall in on a counter from Margarito because Margarito never stops punching inside. I'm convinced Cotto is gonna eat some leather. His best shot though is to stay inside where Margarito won't get full leverage. The guys Margarito has walked through all ended up on the end of his punches. Cotto doesn't wanna be there. That is why him boxing is a bad idea.
This is how Ziggy deals with getting owned, AGAIN. Without pride, without manhood, without dignity, without honesty. Definately without class. Go in peace, Ziggy. I'm done with this ****. That's it. No more wasting my time.
