It's still an excuse, and it is still a banned substance, and it is still illegal.

It's the reason his W over Ruiz was turned into a NC.....

Imagine how much cheating would go on, if you could use the excuse of..."a doctor prescribed it"...bull****...

that nicca beat up on my guy Holyfield, lost me money when he got outboxed by Peter...He's a punch drunk cheat...Before he was caught I thought he was a skilled fighter but that all went out the window when he couldnt pass the test!:-(

Everybody is entitled to their opinion...Me personally, I think Toney should have just sat out on the sideline to let the injury fully heal...Most fighters that have taken medication usually comes back clean...I'm disputing his claim (about the doctor's excuse) but IMO its not an excuse in my book.

But the second time shouldnt be no excuse...He was just flat out doping!:verysad

No dude you're missing the POINT. That's Floyd's boxing identity, that's the style he's been trained in since he was an amateur and a little kid - so it's not out of CHARACTER for him to fight that way.

Margarito's boxing identity is NOT the style he used against Amenaza. It was VERY out of character for him - and hmm, surprise surprise, he happened to break his mold just the one time for the HARDEST HITTER he's ever faced. Curiouser and curiouser...:think

Gladiator outfits aside , Floyd never passes himself off as a Gatti-like warrior. Margarito DOES. That's what his whole ring persona and fanbase are centered on, him being such a warrior. It doesn't strike you as a bit weak that coming off a knockout loss, and facing a huge puncher, he decided to abandon the no-fear come-forward style that got him to the top in the first place?

It's not hypocrisy for Floyd to stick and move. It's TOTAL hypocrisy for Margarito to do it against a massive puncher who he can easily avoid due to their slowness just so he can show off for his fans and build his confidence rebounding from a loss. If he stood in the pocket with Garcia it would have been a slugfest, and one he likely would have lost. By running it was a mismatch in his favor. Garcia needs opponents to stand in front of him, and 99% of the time that's Margarito's make-up as a fighter.

What are you talking about? I've never seen Librado Andrade or Michael Katsidis or others in the come-forward brawler mold of an Antonio Margarito suddenly ***** out and adopt a stick-and-run style the moment they're in with a premium banger. Have you???

Add to it that he had just been KTFO by Mosley his last time out and it paints a pretty suspicious picture, IMO.

They knew Garcia was slow. They also knew he could hit. So a little lightbulb went off in the heads of Margarito and his people, and they decided they could look good as long as they stayed on their toes. The problem with that is, Margarito prides himself on being the kind of fighter that doesn't do that.

I can see if the dude came in on his Fernando Vargas buff bagwell **** but...c'mon. Somebody post a pic of James Toney's tittes in that fight. JT had D-cup breast. James wasn't ****ing with steroids like that.

people dont get the point.. what everybody's butt is saying is that margo is not the same since the mosley fight and he has to show to the public that his career is not based on cheating and that he can bang and keep fighting like he used to without loaded gloves.. from the way he fought garcia it looks like that's not the case.. he was moving backwards a lot more than usual.. honestly i cant wait to see him fight again and see how he looks

    :hat

What part of Margarito is fighting at a higher weight class don't you ****ing understand???

Many fighters, including De La Hoya, Mayweather, Cotto, GATTI, have used a less agressive style as they moved UP in weight, why can't Margarito adapt the same strategy even a come forward warrior like Gatti used???

AGAIN with the ****ing double standards with Margarito. :patsch

What part of he wasn't moving up in weight do you not ****ing understand???

He's fought at light middleweight several times before, but never before fought like that. He didn't run from Miguel Gonzalez, or Danny Perez, or Efrain Munoz, or Jose Benitez, or Robert West, or Maurice Brantley, or Daniel Santos - DID HE?

AGAIN with the ****ing excuses and apologist rationalizations with Margarito. :patsch
