As tough as Cotto is I can't imagine he will stop a tough durable guy like Margarito. I think that the fight will be a war and Cotto will take a close decision.
Of course the fight will be war, but in the end the more skilled fighter will be the victor. Cotto UD.....if Toney's body, eye's and cheek bones don't hold up I could see the Doctor or his corner stopping it around the 10th round. Cotto has an unique combonation of speed, power and accuraccy so it wont surprise me if he TKO's Margo.
Margarito's chin won't matter. Margarito hardly impressed me with his defense last weekend. He beat Cintron by being a tough, pressure fighter who wouldn't let Cintron have the distance he needed to properly get his power off. Cotto though knows how to fight on the inside and he's faster than Margarito and smarter than Cintron. ( Duck down really low, get head on the back of the head, get hit again while complaining to the ref is not a good strategy ) I see Cotto slowing Margarito down with body shots then finishing him off for a body shot KO.
Cotto's ability to get inbetween Margo's freight train attack could have devasting results on Margo's body....if Cotto can maintain his composure and weather Margo's storm Cotto will slowly but surely demolish the rock and turn it into sand.
great fight,potential classic,cotto is the better all-rounder,margarito the more durable,im still kinda 50/50 but im gonna go for margarito late stoppage........maybe!?hopefully we'll find out soon enough.
Margarito has the advantage in the chin factor ... Margarito never stops coming ... he's never been knocked out ... and he has a high work - rate that he could keep up the whole fight. Cotto has never faced a guy that throws 100+ punches a round. Cotto's chin is suspect and it will get tested, along with his will, heart, and boxing ability. Cotto obviously has the edge on speed and boxing ability - but I doubt he will box against Margarito. I think he's going to have the fight of his life. On another hand ... Margarito cuts easy and if Cotto can get an opening then he can take advantage of that. Overall great fight ... I don't see it lasting 12 rounds ... Its a toss up fight -- but i'm going with Margarito - based on his workrate, and endurance.
I agree. Everyone says Cotto cant KO Margarito, and I agree that he can't KO him with a head shot but I can most certainly see Cotto getting a KO after a devistating hook to Margarito's ribs. He's so lean in his torso.....I really could see Cotto breaking or cracking on of his ribs. Margarito's gonna have to protect his body. I still take Cotto on points in a GREAT fight.

looks like am the only one that said this will be a draw i just can't pick a fighter to win this won after watching margarito's chin withstand some heavy shots am in two mins about who would actually win this fight
I recall you picking Gomez for the upset......Margo's levels above young Gomez so why not jump on the wagon?
