Margarito turns down Shane Mosley fight.

Williams didnt have to move up in weight, he let go of the WBO title, he could have waited in line and gotten himself ranked, but apparently he didnt want to. Tony doesnt have to follow the man up to 154.

Again you can make what ever you want to out of this decision by Tony, you name one fighter in their prime at 147 that Mayweather beat??? you cant!! simple as that, Tony in the last year has captured two of the three major world titles at 147, forcing Floyd to retire.

Now Floyd is talking about a come back against Hatton in a rematch and he already beat Hatton, and you know what if the rematch happens what weight class do you think it will happen at? not 147 thats for sure, so whats that tell you? Floyd has no interest in fighting Margarito he doesnt want to prove himself.

you can say that Tony should avenge his loss to Williams and I agree, but what he has done since that loss is worth alot more than what Williams has done since his win over Tony.

So to be honest with you, Tony is the man in position to make these calls and not Paul, had paul wanted that rematch bad enough he could have stayed at welter and made it happen, but instead he chose to move up and fight Phillips.

 

Floyd went and won a belt at 154...

and I'm sure the Punisher would fight Tony at any weight he wants..

fact is that Tony is doing the same thing you gave Floyd **** for... period..

But Margo has been at 147 his whole career. That was Mayweathers fourth weight class. The fact that anyone can even debate an argument for Floyd is laughable for Margo.

 

1)Turned down career high payday to fight Williams. Don't use marketable as an excuse.

2)I agree Mosley's past it. But he isn't a top 5 WW? I think he is as of right now. And Cotto-Margo 2 is already practically a done deal. And as much as I'd rather see him fight Williams, that's not going to happen. So why not fight Mosley, then Cotto. If Mosley is so far past it why won't Margo accept 2 million to fight a past it, 37 year old, highly marketable fighter that he's suppose to beat?

No I dont beleive his game plan is to eat shots to land his own, but I do beleive he has an under ratted defense, people think if your not flawless you have no defense skills, to me Margaritos defense is pretty good.

and for someone who is so unskilled he beat alot of skilled fighters, the definition of skills are in question, some guys have skills in other areas than that hit and dont get hit ****.

Look everybody here knows Margarito would have beat Mosley, and what would have been said here after the fight? Shane was old? Tony was too big? etc... its a lose lose situation to be in especially for the small sum of 2 Million dollars.

There are better fights for Tony, he can fight Berto and unify, he can fight Clottey he can rematch Cotto who already beat Mosley what does a Mosley fight do for Tony at this stage???

 

He was 16 or 17 when he last fought at 135 it means nothing.

You love taking it from Margo in the ass. The guy was clearly still growing and it means nothing. When I was 16 or 17 when I boxed in the AM I was only 175-180 by the time I was 22 I was 210-215. It means nothing his body grew over time he was still maturing at that age.

 

We all weighed 135 at one point or another especially as a 16 year old kid. He wasn't even a grown man yet. I bet Floyd fought at 105 when he was 16.
