I just read that the reason Arum passed on a Margarito/Mosley fight was because of the Cotto rematch. This was before Mosley/Mayorga. Now, if Arum was concerned about Mosley possibly beating Margarito and ruining the Cotto rematch we can be pretty sure Cotto won't be fighting Berto or Clottey. Both Margarito and Cotto will be put in against very soft touches the way it looks. Obviously the purpose of these tune ups is to give Cotto a better chance.
I think if Cotto really trained to box and move, improved his stamina and came in with a solid game plan he could do what he did in the last fight, but maybe when a few more rounds, take less of a beating and last till the end. If so, he could take a decision. He lasted till the 11th last time and it was close on the cards at the time of the stoppage for me.
LOL, now I remember this thread... Funny I chose this one to bump. We have all sorts of people picking Cotto ANONYMOUSLY. Let's see how serious they are about that pick. Public poll in the new thread.
Margarito by KO. Obviously Cotto cannot outbox him, he failed. His only other option is to fight like he fights in every of his fights, and that is a recipe for an early ass kicking by Margarito.
Excaues Stamina :nono No Margo with his hard body shot's and all kind's of punches from all angles head shot uppercut's he hit's you every where that's why Cotto got KTFO Not sanmina.
Cotto ran out of gas against Mosley too and I didn't really see enough body work from Mosley that night. Of course Margarito's punches to the body make it WAY worse but Cotto also has a bad stamina, taking advantage of that by nailing him in the body only makes it worse for Cotto.
He was totally gassed against Lovemore, that he was busting a DLH and running from N'dou. It was a close fight because Cotto had nothing in the last three rounds.
