Margarito vs Mayweather

I disagree , Unlike Cotto floyd has the reach , and the stamina to out box margarito at a distance and use his feet to stay out of harms way.

 

Too simplistic a view pit. His reach is longer then Cotto's, but so what? Mayweather's jab isn't going to stop or slow down Margarito at all. In order to keep Margartio honest and in check, he needs to HURT him. THink his jab will really hurt Margarito?

Talk to me about how Mayweather just doesn't punch as much. Tell me his inactivity WON'T be a factor. Tell me HOW he is going to use his feet, other then to keep away from Margarito for the entire 3 minutes. Tell me Mayweather's bad hand won't matter.

Just because Mayweather was able to do stuff 5-6 years ago against guys HIS SIZE does not mean he can do that at this age and against a much bigger and strnoger man. A man who will have the mental edge over him. A man who WANTS to fight him and knows Mayweather doesn't. Those are factors whether you want to believe them of not Pit.

Good examples are SRL vs Hagler , ray new he didn't have the power to hurt hagler at middle , so he just out boxed him which is all he needed to do and of course there is William vs Margarito , williams never hurt him but that didn't stop him from winning.

Chris byrd vs Tua ... chris can break a bird egg at heavy and tua can knock down a brick with ether hand , and has titanium for a chin.

you , I or margarito don't know what floyd want until the time comes so let just deal with what we got.

Those are good examples Pit, but we are STILL looking at Margarito vs. Mayweather.

Neither Hagler to Leonard, or Tua to Byrd were in their opponents faces the entire fight (at least the way Margarito is with his opponents). Hagler and Leonard are much closer in size to one another then Mayweather and Margarito are. And out boxing tua isn't the most difficult thing to do. Oquendo was totally outclassing Tua till he got caught late. So while they do show you don't need power to win, they aren't in the same boart as Mayweather vs. Margarito.

Williams outworked Margarito, do you think Mayweather will do that? Williams is also a heavier hitter @ 147 then Mayweather is.

I asked abouyt Mayweathers hands. HE's had bad hands as far back as 01 if my mem serves me right.

AND against DLH, Baldomir, and Hatton, he threw on average of under 500 (dont have exact #'s, going from memory). HE was not that active in those fights, becuase his opponent allowd him to take his time and be comfortable. Hell, I know you Mayweather fans deny this, but Hatton's pressure early on kept him in it. You cannot say Mayweather was comfortable in that fight. It clearly showed.

I appreciate the examples. but they are apples to this oranage.

Mayweather needs to keep this Margarito off him in order to retain his composure and get in his rythm. Margarito will be in front of him the WHOLE fight punching. He'll be attacking his body, so his famed shoulder roll won't work as it will against a headhunter.

Think someone who throws maybe 500 punches will win against one who thrpws 1000? Nope.

 

People think Floyd is like Neo or some ****. It's ******ed. A guy who throws 100 punches a round WILL eventually hit you.

Not to mention if all you are doing is backpedaling and throwing one punch at a time that is not going to impress the judges. Floyd knows that. That's exactly why he's stayed the hell away from Margarito. He doesn't have it to beat the man. He knew it already and left it there. Only his fans say otherwise.

 

No less then you thinking that margarito is the juggernaut or something, you guys are now thinking he could walk through puncher like Julian Jackson, if anything the myth of margarito is getting out of hand.

 

Jackson did have alot of pop along with a Norris. That would be a good fight Norris vs Margo :good

Hatton also took Zoos bombs with ease yet goes and gets hurt and stopped by Mayweather.

He's merely saying its possible that he could stun Margo with his punches that Margo doesn't see because they do infact hurt a lot more than punches you do see coming. He saw everything coming at him against those guys and was able to just stand and eat them and come forward. Im not saying Mayweather will KO him but he might surprise Margo when Margo gets hit with a good punch he doesn't see.

 

Still think PBF could box his way to victory. Margs was getting clearly outboxed in the first 5 rounds with Cotto. If Cotto had kept this up he would have pulled off the decision. I think that Cotto became worried that Margs was still in front of him and he failed to stick to his gameplan. This would not happen to PBF. If there is one thing that can not be denied about Floyd it is his ability to box to his own gameplan. PBF will have studied the tapes and will have a clear blueprint in his head of how to pull off the victory. I would in fact pick Cotto in a rematch with Margs. This new Margs bandwagon is getting crazy. He is a good fighter with a great chin and he is coming off an amazing win but that is it.

My prediction is that Floyd will look razor sharp for the first five rounds or so, But after that he will fade, his stamina will suddenly be a factor, Tony will make him fight at a much higher rate than Floyd likes to, with a guy like Tony who throws 100 plus shots per round that means every single min he is firing 30 shots basicly 1 shot every two seconds, Floyd will have to fight in this one.

I dont think it will end up like the Cotto beating, I think Floyd would get a far worse beating, Margarito is the kinda guy who wants to prove who the man is, Not by simply winning, but he wants to destroy his opponents, and Floyd is one that Margarito will do everything in his power to make a SOLID statement.

I think Floyds style is his hidden opponent in this fight, he puts himself on the ropes, Something that Margarito loves to do to you anyways, He will keep that left hand low and try to slip duck and evade shots, Okay keep that left hand low and do that with Margarito.

Honestly My prediction is Margarito stops Floyd in Probably 8 or 9 rounds if Floyds corner doesnt stop it first, and I agree with you Scar if Floyd losses here he will pretty much be looked at like a joke, which is why I dont think he ever takes this fight.

 

Okay and Margo was hurt by nobodies? That doesn't change the fact that punches you dont see hurt more than ones you do see. Unless Im blind, I dont see where pit tried to say Mayweather would/could KO him. Merely hurt him.
