Margarito has come in as a middle for years now. They will be the same size except Margarito will stop felix through accumlation.
Tliang, that Hopkins fight was at MW. And Hopkins is one of the best MWs of all time. He was a great defensive fighter, and a great tactician. He posed a contrasting style to Tito and was a bigger guy. Margo is not bigger than Trinidad. Margo would be a puncher going against a bigger puncher. The Hopkins fight would bare no relevance to this fight. Furthermore, Hopkins would beat the hell out of Margo at MW. A stoppage wouldn't be out of the question.
:rofl I have to assume this post was sarcastic. Not just for the outcome but for the reasons behind it.
Eh, I think this actually is a pretty good matchup. Trinidad gets overrated on this forum, and I can't predict *anyone* stopping Margarito. There's simply no evidence to suggest that would happen. Trinidad certainly has his advantages and I can see him winning, but I don't believe it's a foregone conclusion.
Oh yes . . . my bad . . . he fought twice Brantley and Daniel Santos. :yep 2 judges have it for Santos when the fight was stopped due to accidental headbutt. Marg loss by Technical Decission.
You are talking about the unification bout when WBC/IBF Middleweight Champion Bernard Hopkins TKOed WBA Middleweight Champion Felix Trinidad to become the first Undisputed Middleweight Champion since Marvin Hagler, right?
Hopkins is the only man to stop Trinidad, So I don't see Margo doing it. But Margo stopping Tito isn't the point in this fight, Margo is right there to be hit, and it doesn't matter how great his chin is, you can get hit that much by Trinidad. Also, Tito can match Margo's strength, a very big factor in how he beats opponents. If Trinidad wanted to, he could back Margo up. I see it going 6, 7, maybe 8 rounds before the stoppage comes, a lot like Trinidad-Campas. There's a theory about Tito: If he can land the left hook 90% of the time, he'll beat about 90% of the fighters in the history of his divisions. Tito will land almost at will, and Margo will collapse. He'll be competitive, probably drop Tito and stun him a few times, but if both are prepared as they should be, I don't see Margo winning 5 fights out of 100 with Trinidad.
There was no evidence to suggest that he'd have KO'd Mayorga either, who had a titanium chin as well. We saw how that went.
Sweet Pea, Margo's chin isn't titanium. It's adamantium. Margo is a different animal. He would beat any WW post 1973 in a 15 round fight. He has the greatest chin ever and would stop Duran. I heard Margo once knocked out full grown Elephant when he visited the zoo once as a kid. Margo via KO, round 4.
Margarito vs Trinidad Margarito vs PBF Margarito vs Hearns Margorito vs Pavlik Margarito vs Haye How about Margarito vs Godzilla?
I completely disagree. Someone as open as Margarito facing a monster puncher like Tito is going to be hit clean and hit often. Nobody is taking flush shots from Tito all fight long and lasting a full 12 or 15 rounds. If you bring up Whitaker, he took a beating, but he doesn't fight with the same style as Margarito, and even at that stage was the more skilled operator and wasn't hit as flush and as often as Margarito would be. I think logic says that an come-forward fighter who will be open to hit all night long ain't lasting with Trinidad.
Thats a guess. As for all of Margarito's come forward style and open defense he's never been knocked down, looked hurt or wobbled. Margarito might well have a 'Hagler like' chin so when he steps in the ring with Trinidad he walks through everything and knocks him out inside 3 rounds. I think the logic says that Margarito hurts Trinidad or possibly floors him more than vice versa. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out why either. Margarito has the better balance of power and the ability to take a shot. However, I'm not suggesting that Margarito would win the fight. Trinidad has the better offense and is more accurate. It could well be a fight that neither goes down and it goes the distance.
