He actually has been dropped if you wanna get down to it, though he was very young so it doesn't hold much bearing. And apparently he was hurt against Santos, though I've personally not seen the fight yet.

He's not even as skilled as Tito though! He has a great chin, noone's denying that, but unless you're counting on him having a LaMotta like chin I don't see him going the distance. Not to mention a clean KO isn't the only way to stop someone, accumulation of punishment from a fighter like Tito who'd be landing flush all night could very well lead to a stoppage as well.

I just don't see how his fight with Cotto proves he's superhuman.

You could've said the same about Mayorga.

I just think that's very unlikely and not very logical.

I never knew he had been dropped early in his career. I've been following his career since 2000. I do have the Santos fight but haven't watched it since I recorded it.

Yes, he's not as skilled as Trinidad. He's not as pin-point with his punches and Trinidad capataliszes on mistakes better. Trinidad IMO was a lot faster than Margarito as well. I just don't see how the Cotto fight alone makes him superman. I'm a bit too smart to fall for that.

So any welterweight who has a granite chin, who's aggressive, and has a leaky defense you would take Trinidad to stop them?

Trinidad's defense wasn't exactly 'water tight'. And looking back at his welterweight career he was floored around half a dozen times against fighters not as accomplished or powerful as Margarito.

Yes, and with my last response, just guess work. It's like predicting fights. You picked Cotto to stop Margarito based on his technical ability, etc. And many others done so as well. But it never quite worked out like the vast majority of people thought it would.

Is there one in particular that you wouldn't? I'm having a hard time coming up with any names.

Well, the way I see it Margarito's power is more accumulation based than one punch power, and I didn't say it was impossible for him to put Tito down. That has happened before with Tito against similar stylists. I just think 8 rounds is well long enough for Tito to have landed enough clean shots to have severely damaged Margarito in the same sense that he did another titanium chinned fighter at the time in Mayorga.

That's true. You never can really tell, and anyone can made an off call, as fights don't always play out as they should in your mind. But the way I see it, stylistically Tito is just bad for Margo.

Prime for both these fighters, Margo and Tito, is and was 147-respectively. I wanna say Tito wins on points. I can't envision Tito Knockin' out Margo. The guy is way too strong, way too stubborn, and too well conditioned.

He got up to stop every one of those guys.

THere is really only one way to beat prime Tito at 147 or 154 and that is to box the **** out of him and avoid getting hit. Margarito does not have the ability to do that. He would hurt TIto early possibly floor him but by the end of the fight he would be a punching bag like so many other trinidad opponents. If he did see the final bell it would be a David Reid type of seeing the final bell where he somehow just managed to find a way to survive.

No matter how good a guys chin is, you can't take shot after shot from Tito.

My if only Tito were 26 and 147 again the Margo gravy train everyones riding right now would come tp a screeching halt. Trinidad has the left hook is also 5'11" and has stamina for days loves to come foward and loves guys who come foward. He would crush Margo ala Yori Boy Campas inside 10. Guarenteed no doubt about it.

Trinidad by KO. Better Chin and more Punching Power than Cotto.
