I dont know some of you all keep saying its not looking good for Margarito but if that were the case he would already be done, This is obviously being taken seriously but I doubt there is any substance that will link Margarito to any wrong doing, if that were the case that would have been addressed by now.

So as it stands the pads were firm and hard, there has yet to be a substance discovered and there has yet to be a ruling of any illegal or wrong doing in this case, looks like you guys are reaching for your last straws as its clear you may have blown this way out of line.

So after all this time we still have nothing.

And these being used wraps hardened with sweat is sounding more plausible than all this circus going on from Nazim, Roach, and ESB margo haters.

Until the CSAC gives us results I will not take anyone's word on this.

The good and bad for Antonio Margarito

The California State Athletic Commission hearing to determine Antonio Margarito's fighting future has continued past the noon hour.

Margarito and his trainer, Javier Capetillo, temporarily suspended for having illegal hand wraps before the Jan. 24 welterweight title fight against Shane Mosley, could have their licenses revoked, said Karen B. Chappelle, the supervising deputy attorney general prosecuting the men.

State inspector Mike Bray revealed what he witnessed of the "illegal" pads hidden in knuckle wraps.

"There was a blood stain on the corner of the pad; [it was] moist and dirty looking with a white substance smeared across the pad, like a cast plaster ... I can see a substance smeared in the middle of this pad," Bray said, reading from notes he'd filed about the inspection.

Earlier, Chappelle attempted to introduce a claim that the pads were worn by Margarito in his July TKO victory over Miguel Cotto in Las Vegas, but the commission said that point lacked relevance.

Margarito and Capetillo's attorneys pointed to chain of custody issues with the pads after they were recovered from Margarito's hands, drawing testimony that three people in Mosley's dressing room touched the pads.

Chappelle noted the pads had already been ruled illegal and inspector Dean Lohuis read the rule in alleged violation: "The use of water or any liquid or material on any part of the hand wrap is strictly prohibited."

Margarito's attorney, Daniel Petrocelli, had another inspector acknowledge that, "There didn't seem to be foul play on the part of Margarito. He didn't show me anything to show me he knew what was going on."

Margarito is taking the stand now.

Antonio Margarito's trainer, Javier Capetillo, has essentially fallen on the sword in the hand-wrapping scandal that is playing out during today's hearing in front of the California State Athletic Commission in Van Nuys.

Capetillo just told his attorney that he accidentally implanted inserts into the hand wraps of his boxer.

"I committed a big mistake," Capetillo said. "I don't want this young man [Margarito] to have problems. I'm here to cover any responsibility. I take full responsibility. I committed this innocent mistake."

Capetillo explained he accidentally pulled the insert from his training bag and placed it in Margarito's knuckle wraps on Jan. 24, just before Margarito's fight with Shane Mosley.

The commission has the power to revoke both Capetillo and Margarito's licenses.

i knew it was a mistake for Nazim to take the stuff into the other room....those sneaky lawyers would say the evidance can't be used because it may have been tampererd by the other people....i want to see the pictures of the pads...as Nazim got people to take pictures using their phones

    Accidental, HA!

    WHAT ABOUT THE BLOOD STAIN!!!!!

That proves they were used in the past!

Not sure about during training, theres no upside to using these pads. Maybe during sparring to get them to mold to the fist better. You use gauze and tape over the hand and how often does a boxers fist bleed from training or a spparing session?

I ask cause I think only a serious drumming would cause a hand to bleed through tape and gauze onto this ilegal "pad" (example: from the Cotto fight...)

Does anyone else think its possible to bust him for using this in past fights instead of them saying it was just used in training...?

    Innocent mistake my ass!!!!

LMAO - Accidentally? He should be banned for life.

It was locked in one hand, and he was putting it in the other. What a joke.

    Exactly!

But they should wait until the test results comeback to give him that lifetime ban.
