Pacquiao/Margarito fight week kicked off Sunday in the greater Dallas-Fort Worth area when Antonio Margarito met with about 2,000 boxing fans at a South Fort Worth-area shopping center. From high above the full-size boxing ring set up in La Gran Plaza, Margarito spoke to a loud crowd chanting ‘si se puede’ — ‘yes we can’ — before making his way into the ring, the place he called ‘mi casa.’ The controversial Margarito continued to speak to the largely Hispanic crowd in Spanish as they snapped photos and yelled questions to the weekend’s underdog from Tijuana. Mariachis serenaded the three-time former champion, one of them topping Margarito with a giant sombrero, under which he conducted TV interviews before rolling through the crowd shaking hands, taking pictures and signing autographs. This time a large portion of the upper section will be open, setting the stage for a Texas-size knockout crowd. Funny how this fight deemed insignificant by some posters here will break the U.S. record for live attendance for a boxing event. If 80,000 is the projected attendance then my guess was right (something I posted several times a few months back).
But...why? Other than financially supporting underprivileged kids he hasn't done anything significant as of late. They should still be celebrating Cain Velasquez's win. Got nothing against Marg though, in fact I'm pulling for him. I just think he's being overrated. But hey, who am I to say what you can and cannot like.
I know all this Margarito brings nothing to the table well lookie here bbb I know its tuff LukeO breathe deep its going to be okay:yep and thats what its about isnt it? if you fight like that the people especially Latinos will come out to show their support and usally that means ticket sales PPV sales etc.. Whats he supposed to do show up at your apartment complex with free sake lunchs and feed the homeless strippers? And the truth is he has been vastly underrated.
Huh? I'm not hating. Most of the people going to that fight are mexican. Pacquiao is gonna beat the **** out of marg. Just telling the truth, ese.
Berto, Alexander, and Bradley's fans combined = still less than Margarito's fans. And people said a Margarito fight won't make sense. :rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl
