What colour were his handwraps?

Plaster of paris is of an 'off white' colour and would be exceptionally easy to spot on any kind of wrap - nobody surely would be so stupid as to even try to blend a small amount into the fabric.

Would it even moisten and set in time to make a difference, in any case?

After all, Margo got his ass whipped, should be end of story.

 

Without chemical tests, all it indicates is a suspicion - and then, only in ONE fight. Sports fans are always SO quick to convict without concrete evidence. It's sickening, really.

 

INDEED!! I mean come on folks. Sure, it may be hard to speculate any past offenses and even harder to prove them, since that evidence will be long gone.

But do you really think HBO would release this info with enough details with out there being any thing really going on?? NO!

 

You can close the casket on Margarito's career last night. He was caught cheating. He got beat the hell up. I expect him to be suspended from boxing for a while. And by the time he comes back he will still continue to eat punches. He better quit now before he developes brain damage.

ANYTHING other than the prescribed amount of gaze and tape is illegal. That's pro boxing 101. ANYTHING that is properly placed and hard potentially increases the effect of the impact. Anyone ever use all duct tape (over gaze) to (tightly) wrap your hands before? The effect is significant; something as hard as "plaster"..................

 

it is not the end of the story though....HBO and the commission don't make **** up....margo lost and he got caught cheating....that is what happened....

 

Hardly. Without concrete evidence, there is NOTHING to "taint" his wins for the OBJECTIVE boxing fan. The only thing for which the haters MIGHT have evidence is that he had some substance in his wraps in the Mosley fight, which were then REMOVED. And even in THAT case, the results are not in!

 

Not if it conformed to the fist with a soft padding in between, which is why they would use something like a plaster cast. Gloves are also used to prevent superficial damage to the target, and if you put something hard in them they would definitely do more damage.

 

Zakman, you are so much smarter than that my man. I've read tons of your posts and know you are intelligent man. Now, sure, we don't know the EXACT details yet, but HBO would not have reported it live if there wasn't enough substantial evidence already seen, or they would have their asses sued into the ground.

I don't get it, sir. Are you a huge Margarito fan? There had to have been some more than fishy **** going on for all this to have been released already. They don't bag and tag a set of hand wraps simply because too much tape was figured to have been applied.

Even as a Brit, some of the decisions made at HBO with regard the purchasing of fights seems bizarre.

 

You have to admit though Zak this probably isn't the first time Margarito had illegal hand wraps. Athletes are always looking for any kind of edge they can get.

 

Yes, that is true, and T. Hauser has been lighting thier asses up, and I say good for him too.

But this is a whole different bundle of Bull **** than what they pay for fights, is it not?

 

Where's the EVIDENCE?? All we have at this point is that the commission seized his handwraps based on someone's VISUAL INSPECTION. We don't yet know even what the substance was, if there even WAS a foreign substance.

Even IF chemical evidence emerges that he had some substance in there that wasn't supposed to be there, this will not PROVE that this occurred in ANY other fight. Those are the FACTS.

 

It doesn't have to prove anything happend in any other fight. If he cheated in one fight it taints his whole career and Margo is going to have to man up and accept that fact.

What Margo got caught doing last night is something that gets people banned from the sport, for life.
