The thing about Butterbean is that he is terrible at getting up when taken down. This is ACTUALLY a bit fo a tough fight to call, especially if it is only 2 rounds like Puds second to last fight. Puds could win by lay and pray but I predict a first round KO by the old as hell butterbean!
if your right..it will be good to know that even a relative **** boxer can still beat the "worlds strongest man"
hope butterbean can pull it off. but i can see him being taken down right away and being dry humped. once down there is little chance of him getting back up.
I think Pudz may be at a disadvantage here now that he's lost the weight. Butterbean is a huge man and VERY strong himself. He's certainly the better striker. On strength alone up at 270-280 could Pudz get Bean to the mat? If he can he wins via GnP as Bean is useless on his back. Standing it would be over for Pudz. With lost weight comes lost strength. Thats pretty much Pudz's only advantage.
Mariusz fight with Tim should have shown anyone who failed to believe prior that weight strength and grappling strength are not the same thing. Anyways, Pudz can beat all the butterbeans he wants, i dont think he will ever be cut out as an mma figher, he doesnt seem to have basic fighting instincts when facing adversity... im sure he can be trained better and generally improve, but IMO the guy just isnt a fighter. Mad props for him continuing with it though, while he may obviously lose strength with some depleted mass, i am doubtful that he would have had the stamina to be a successful fighter if he had kept it, so it might have been a necessary thing to do.
He just doesn't have the experience. Fair play to him for trying something new but it takes years to change muscle memory that is so used to strongman competitions. I don't see Bean loosing this as nothing can be made of Pudz's take down skills when he simply has none. Strength doesn't win fights. Technique does. And right now Pudz doesnt have technique or time on his side.
Yes it might simply come down to muscle memory, but his fight with Tim just looked bizarre, he just doesnt look like a guy who knows how to fight. Granted, Tim is a big guy so maybe that threw Pudz off a bit, but idk.... but your right, big props for continue trying.
Bean is one of the few boxers who now knows how to fight a bit. He is fat and not very talented at all but he respects MMA and has taken the time to learn what it is about. Unlike Mercer who didn't know what a guillotine was prior to fighting Kimbo.
This is funny. Butterbean is really just an out-of-shape, semi-mobile fat guy who has punching power because of his weight. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9pNeqZ8y3yA[/ame]
Because he wanted to try his hands at MMA. Nothing wrong with that. Life is all about challenging yourself be it stupid or not.
