Boxers don't often hug and hold and wait for the ref. to separate them when they get in to trouble? I've seen many boxing matches which were a continual dance of circling around the ring and then hugging your opponent (gay?) to either avoid damage or catch some wind. There are all kinds of tricks and methods that boxers use to avoid trouble.

Of course if you happen to be a smaller/faster fighter you're going to love the ideal advantage of a larger more powerful opponent not being able to grab your elusive ass and beat you senseless. How is that courageous or brave? To me it's like a cat needling a pit bull knowing full well that it can run away if it needs to. But trap them together in close quarters and suddenly the cat isn't so brave anymore. Suddenly overall body strength and not just speed comes in to play.

If wrestling is gay because of its close contact, then this must be gay as well.

The fact that you chose, Ruiz, derided by the boxing community for YEARS for his revolting style of fighting/hugging, shows how desperate you are.

When he fought David Haye, a good athlete and boxer with speed and power, I didn't see much of that going on. In fact, I saw Ruiz getting bludgenoed by shots that would make Lesnar fall down like a girl right away.

But the rules of boxing allow for this generally accepted practice huh?

And no one is praising what Brock Lesnar did either. It's an act of self-preservation which is no different than what boxers do when they're in trouble. You can cite examples of boxing matches without much clinching just as I can cite many MMA fights were contact wasn't intentionally avoided. Overt and unwarranted instances of avoiding contact is actually against the rules in MMA. It's referred to as 'timidity'.

The fact that I chose that picture proves nothing other than it was the first example of clinching that I could find with an image associated with it.

Ignorant comparison. Holyfield is forced to box with Tyson to beat Tyson in a boxing match. Brock isn't forced to box with Carwin to win.

if and only if Pudz is able to take down the beach ball he has a good shot....if he was able to take down Big Tim I don't see why he would have too much trouble with Bean

One of Sapp's main problems, as I understand it, is that when Cro-Cop broke his orbital bone in their K-1 bout the eye never fully recovered. He basically has damaged vision in one eye and is terrified of anything happening to the other eye.

LOL....Klitschko would kick his fat ass in a mma match too....please about the whole "one of the few fighters who can fight a bit" line.

well, judging how Bean was taken down by a ex hocky goon who clearly has no take down training..and cant be stronger the Pudz, i dont see how anyone can discount the likelyhood that pudz will take the beaner down and just ugly ground and pound him....

He wasn't saying Klitschko would lose that matchup, but that he is one of the few who has been able to learn enough to be able to use his boxing power because he has a little bit of ability in terms of getting up or stopping the takedown.

    He even submitted a guy.

I still think its foolish to say something along the lines of Butterbean can fight..because he has done BJJ ****..but any other boxer CANT FIGHT..seriously..Klitschko could have never boxed a day in his life and he would kick butterbeans ass if he had been raised by the Gracies and fedor and been boxing since he was 4, just because Wlad is that much gentically superiour to the guy.

and when you say butterbean can fight, but other boxers cant..well then you are saying bean would beat those guys. Klitschko beats bean in mma 99.99999999999999 times out of a hundred.

The highlighted part is absolutely absurd, fighting is a skill; if Butterbean grew up with two of the best camps for fighting in the world, he would be a great fighter, or certainly a fighter that could beat somebody who had never fought. You are just being absurd.

I never said other boxers couldn't fight; although they have yet to prove they would be able to use their boxing because they lack the tools that would allow them too beyond the first exchange of the fight; the ability to stop a takedown or get back up.

..watch that video i showed...butterbean got taken down easy by a hockey player...he is too ****ing fat to use any type of "skill" at take down defense...which is why i am picking the big pole.
