He was looking at Marquez for seconds, he clearly saw he was down, and took steps towards him before getting into range, cocking his hand back and launching the punch even when Nady grabbed at his arm. There was no excuse, it was a blatant, flagrant, bull-**** foul. Barrera was probably just pissed at how bad he had been getting his ass kicked that round and took a cheap shot. What could he have been confused about? He knocked the guy down, did he forget you're not allowed to hit people when they're down?

Yea that was so stupid. Barrera should have won that round 10-8 and he should have won the fight. I don't know WTF was the judges watching scoring that fight. I thought barrera won the fight.

The fact that no referee had stepped in to make a call one way or the other. It's not a KD until the ref says it is. JMM is down on a knee, looking him right in the eye, MAB's standing there with his right hand cocked for another punch and his thumb in his ass, and Nady is nowhere to be seen. I'm not saying he did the right thing, or that he should have thrown the punch, I'm saying that confusion in such a situation is understandable and to be expected. A ref is supposed to take charge and do his job, and it wasn't a good day for Nady.

At 135 lbs and below, who has had the stamina to hang with Marquez who trains religiously at extreme high altitude?????

.......even Manny Pacquiao was tired in the late rounds of both fights vs Marquez.

MAB certainly did'nt look like a fighter who was shot and he had full semblance on what he needed to do, except that Marquez was doing what he needed to do better.

.......and for the record Addie, MAB bitched about this decision, as if to tell the world, "I'm Marco Antonio Barrera, unless I'm getting steamrolled, I should be getting these decisions."
........this in a fight where the media was pretty much unanimous that Marquez had clearly deserved the decision.

......and yet another example why I'm not a fan of MAB's, he pulls a ***** move and paints GBP in a corner by putting pressure on them for him to land the Pacquiao fight, even though the Marquez fight had been billed as the winner to fight Pacquiao.:patsch

Then what does MAB do when he pulls a quit job in the Pacquiao rematch?????
He criticizes GBP and leaves to sign with Don King.:!:

Just a few reasons for me to shake my head and say to myself, 'what kind of a person is MAB to pull so many ***** moves in and out of the ring.

    Ever seen MAB-EM 1?

Even the most rabid MAB hater knows MAB was far along in his slide. THere's not really any debate here whatsoever, considering MAB was in his prime at 122. Shot? No. Prime? HELL no.

And how often do great fighters feel that they SHOULD have lost a fight that went to the cards?

Neither you nor I nor anyone else except MAB, DLH and Schaefer know why MAB left Golden Boy, but he was making dissatisfied noises before this happened. So has Nard, at various times.

Bitches don't get in the ring. Especially fighters who are in there because they love to fight, like MAB. He NEVER 'had' to fight. He comes from money, and he was well on the way to making his own in the legal field. He was a fighter because that's what he wanted to be, he was never forced to step in that ring one day in his life. MAB has a temper, like every other fighter in the world, and sometimes it gets the best of him, but overall he's one of the most gentlemanly fighters in the sport.

I saw the whole trilogy, and I also payed attention to notice that Morales forte was never stamina.
Morales looked fatigued late in just about every competitve fight he was ever in........fights like the Chi, and Espadas fights those fighters though not in his class, were outworking El Terrible late.

No one is saying MAB was prime, but you should not forget that Marquez was not prime either.
An out of prime Marquez still had good enough skills to execute a clinic in the Pacquiao rematch.

You dont have to be Einstein to figure out that the reason both MAB and Hopkins started bitching with Shafaer is that since both started to lose, they each still wanted to continued to be payed at the same pay rate in their fights.
When you lose, your payrate takes a nose dive.....and thats something that both MAB and Hopkins had trouble digesting.

I dont agree that MAB's gentlemanly. Imo he's the type of person that his own friends should be careful not to get backstabbed by him......just my opinion of how he comes across to me.

......but I'll tell you something, though I dont like MAB an mainly because he's come across as an ******* in different situations......I'm not above paying him a compliment when its deserved.
He just makes my cut as to my criteria as a great fighter, and I like his work as an analyst over at ESPN Deportes.
MAB does great work at ESPN Deportes, and I think he should forget about being active as a fighter and concentrate on his work as an analyst.

......sadly, analyst dont get paid nearly as well as fighting, and I just hate seeing even great fighters I dislike, get tossed into a lions den against hungry young skill fighters.

I speak spanish fluently, and MAB is an exellent analyst Bernie. If Marco was fluent in English, he'd be the one replacing Lennox Lewis.

Its too bad MAB does'nt speak fluent english, because they love him over at HBO (Home Barrera Office):D;)

He earned some love in the McKinney fight for them, but it wasn't reciprocal. He dissed both HBO and EM after their first fight. "your champion ees NO GOOD!!!" hahahaha

Thanks for reminding me about those specifics Bernie.

Morales did nothing but praise MAB right after that fight.
A close enough fight wher it could have gone either way, and all MAB did after that fight was complain about the decision (which is fine) but in doing so, he was completely dissing and disrespecting Morales the fighter.

One thing is to complain about a decision, but another is to completely disrespect Morales the Champion and diss him with a bunch of uncalled for derogatory words.
This dissing Bernie was the beggining of that hateful rivalry that became of MAB vs Morales.

......which in turn takes me back to my point about MAB being a backstabber.........MAB dissed HBO who was always good to him after the Morales fight, and yet he stays mum when he gets a gift in the first Juarez fight.

I think it was because he looked like he was falling down off balance while he got hit square on the way down. I think it was a clear knockdown for MAB, but I suppose that's why the referee called it a slip.

Thats exactly why Nady did'nt rule it a knockdown.
Without the benefit of slow-mo replay, it looks like in live speed that Marquez had slipped........particularly in the way he stuck his hands out to prevent his fall.

Then for God's sake, MAB goes into a full windup to punch at Marquez while both Marquez' gloves are clearly touching the canvas.:nut

Marquez was on all fours. There's no way Barrera didn't know what he was doing, unless his brains were still scrambled from the punches he was taking in that round.
