Marquez-Pacquiao Robbery Thread

Close fight. I had Marquez winning, but it was not a robbery.

 

You found 7 rounds to give to Pac in this fight? Is that the card you filled out before the fight?

You haven't been here long, have you man? JMM could have knocked Pac down 25 times and there'd be a bunch of posters on here insisting Pacquiao deserved to win due to his durability and fighting spirit.

If you're looking for actually sane discussion about boxing you couldn't be in a worse place.

Pac will never dominate jmm. That was obvious after 24 rounds and exclaimed after 36. Those styles mesh in a pretty special way though I enjoyed this fight the least in the trilogy as bOth guys were more tactical this time out. I HATE scoring even rounds but there were a couple I almost broke the lead on my pencil trying to score.

I couldn't argue with the 115-113, but it the only travesty was calling it an 8-4 116-112. I felt marquez kinda lost it in rounds 10-12, but ****, those two and their styles are like a judges worst nightmare. I wouldn't argue with anyone who saw Marquez win a 7-5 kinda fight.

I would laugh a lot if Pac retired now.

Mayweather I will always think a bad match up for Pac. Ud city. But the fight that might get in may should have happened two years ago as I think PAC is just over the crest of his hof career now.

Nacho should have told jmm to put the foot on the gas and make sure of it after the last two fights, I think the poll above is ridiculous as to blame Pac or anyone else outside Marquez' corner as they're the only ones jmm can communicate with.

Very seldom most the people are wrong forget about 3 judges I was watching the fight with 20 friends everybody knew Pac needed a knockout to win he looked bad all night missing with the straight left.

 

Arum pimped him one too many times. Now the "super" fight won't sell as well.

 

All the fights in GB and Germany are fixed. People just go to the fights to hear themselves yell and drink beer.

 

when the hell was JMM hurt? Neither guy was really hurt all night but jesus, why don't you base your opinons on compubox, its very reliable when scoring a fight. Matter of fact did you just score the fight based on compubox numbers alone?

JMM landed the cleaner harder shots all night, he rarely got hit with something hard + he controled distance and tempo... ring generalship. He won that fight in every way.

The only thing you are right about is his taking the foot off the gas was a mistake.

 

Ok enlighten me on how boxing is scored by the judges. I thought the first and most important criteria in judging a boxing fight is effective punching. Isn't the 2nd or 3rd important criteria is ring general ship ( who is dictating the fight/controlling the ring, aggresor > passive).

I believe and it always has been that if the two fighters landed about the same amount of effective punches then you go to the 2nd and 3rd criteria of judging which is ring general ship. There were many close rounds and we all know judges score in favor of the aggressor. Manny was taking more risk trying to make a fight while JMM just waited to counter Manny. And btw, Pacquiao landed more per round that JMM.

Third thing I want to point out that people forget is Manny was the defending champion which means the challenger has to do more and win the rounds very convincingly to win the fight.

That is my take on that.

 

Judges but I respect Arum being at fault..his past is my source...he is known for dirty $hit.
