I'm a big time MAB fan, and although I thought most of the rounds were close, I thought JMM clearly edged out more rounds than MAB did and I had JMM handily ahead (much to my dismay). MAB just didn't seem willing to do what he needed to do to win. But I do agree that a prime MAB is too much for JMM. Incidentally, anyone know what's going on with Barrera's supposed comeback?
He is definitely at their level in terms of skills. So it's a pick em on any given night. Prime MAB vs JMM would end up in a close controversial decision every time.
That much is probably true, and the same can probably be said for any match-ups between the three Mexican greats.
I disagree. MAB was landing his jabs and those wider punches whilst JMM was landing those crisp straight punches. The commentators was saying how this one will have the judges scorecards all over the place and I agreed with them. I knew that the judges were gonna go for JMM's flashier punches, but put the flash aside a second and you will see MAB was just landing an equal amount if not more. JMM's punches just looked like they were doing more damage but at the end of the day, it was MAB who got the KD.
Though I had it for JMM, there were rounds there that would make you believe that P4P MAB could have disposed of JMM with his boxing and punches. As for JMM vs Morales, I think Morales could hurt JMM as well. Close fights both.
Well, I had JMM well ahead on my scorecard...of course, the 3-point swing was crippling, but even without that, I couldn't find a way to give MAB too many rounds. He just wasn't willing enough to engage.
I would take JMM over Barrera prime for prime in a close fight, but I would give the edge to Morales over JMM.
