Hatton just seems really out of position after throwing his punches in his more recent fights. It seemed like he had better balance and head movement earlier in his career. Against Pacquiao he threw well, but did not recover back to a defensive position at all. Marquez being the great counter puncher that he is....

To be honest he was pretty open against Floyd in their fight. The problem is Floyd never really went after him until the later rounds. Its part of his style.

I think its a good but a bit meaningless of a fight.

I guess if Marquez and Hatton did fight, then Pac lost to Cotto, it gives an excuse for Pac and Marquez to have a fight for the lineal 140 title or something.

Their both still popular fighters with huge fanbases.

    How is that meaningless?

Exactly. Hatton used to come in with good head movement and a balanced attack, while maintaining good balance. He has become entirely too sloppy. More so against Pacquiao than Mayweather, but sloppy nonetheless against Mayweather. Marquez is still very technically sound, and unlike Hatton, didn't get knocked out by Floyd. Come to think of it, Marquez didn't get knocked out by Pacquiao in the 2nd either.

hatton has just as much to loose as jmm if this fight happens.

a hatton loss = hes shot

    a jmm = got handled by a guy pac ko'ed in 3
