Yeah, I don't know why this would come to London... Outside of the harcore (which is like 0.01% of the population), and the casual Hatton fans, no one would have a clue who JMM and FMJ are, and have no interest or knowledge of boxing whatsoever.
BOXING POLITICS That's why. Here in England no one outside the boxing community has heard of Floyd Mayweather. BUT everyone has heard of Manny Pacquaio now he destroyed one of our best loved sportsman 'Ricky Hatton' Mayweather wants to keep his name out there. It seems very strange to be going to London when these fighters have NOTHING to do with London. It's to upstage Manny and get back some of the exposure Manny has had. Mayweather wants the world to know he thinks he is the number 1 P4P in the world.
He wants to get his name around as much as possible so the general public don't say 'Manny Pacquaio that's the little asian guy who is fighting guys bigger than him and destroying them, I don't have a clue who this other guy is...never heard of anyone called Mayweather' I bet that thought keeps him awake at night. Not being the centre of attention.
Can I get someone to tell this guy to simply SHUT THE **** UP for me? Pack venues????? Buy PPVs???? GTFO, only when Ricky was fighting and we wont be seeing that anytime soon anymore :yep
You really expect that many Brits to buy it in the middle of the night without the local angle? Look at the number of posters on this board that are exclusive huggers of Froch, Hatton and Haye. They post only in threads concerning them. Not saying hard core boxing fans won't buy, just doubt the numbers will be high.
Epi.....I cant wait for the fight either and I have a feeling its going to turn out to be something that nobody expected. :happyBut my point stands bro. What does the UK have to do with this fight you know? :huh
:|:|:| a couple of hundred boxing fans can't go and stand around for a couple of hours in houston now and watch floyd hand out a few petty insults, JMM not really do much and oscar stand around with a big **** eating grin on his face. ****ing fairy.
Mayweather is pretty well known in Britain as he was the first to beat Hatton and the hype for Hatton-Floyd was WAAAAY bigger than the hype for Hatton-Pac. Juan Manuel is only known by boxing fans who are a very small minority.
I have no idea why the're coming to england. The ppv market is only substantial when Hatton fights. I cant see many, except the purists buying this on Sky PPV, i dont even know what broadcaster is showing the fight. will be very lucky if it gets 100,000. If its free there will be probably about a million that would tune in. But yea its a waste of time in my opinion, instead of london why not go to Mexico city? 30 million plus there
No I wont wake up at 4am. I'll be staying up to watch a PPV that will start at 10 pm and finishes at 6am with two full PPV cards!!! We will get nearly a dozen fights, maybe more!!! :happy
