Martinez calls out pac but says too small to move to 168

Same Margo who beat and K.O. Martinez right?

 

Pac @WW at fight night weighs 148-149, 1-2 lbs over the WW limit
Martinez @MW at fight night weighs 170, 10 over the MW limit

If Martinez claims he's too small at 168, Pacquiao must be nanoscale at JMW, weighing 6 lbs less the JMW fight (2 lb less than max catchweight)

 

So martinez weighing 170 on fight night should tell ya something... sure he is bigger than pac, as is everybody lately who manny has fought.
I think the idea of Martinez actually becomming a house hold name and a legit threat to the elite is why we are hearing all of this.
if Manny takes this fight respect to him he has big balls for doing so, and lossing to Martinez isnt something bad there is a size difference but beleive there will be another catch weight, so that size difference should Manny lose, doesnt really count...

 

If he could weigh in at 154, safely, then a fight w/ Pac or Floyd wouldn't be out of the question. And he probably is too small right now for 168. Dude just moved to MW a short spell ago.

 

I've never claimed he should fight at supermiddle. His frame is too small for that. I think he's a natural 154 who's just added muscles to compete at 160.
I was just pointing out to another poster that he was way above the 160 weightlimit at fightnight and therefore way too big for Pacquiao as everybody else thinks.

 

Martinez is too big for Pac, the fight won't happen. All of you people saying that it's wrong for him to call out Pac are idiots though, if Pac wants to get a belt at 154 and Martinez can still make 154 then that's more than fair. Same with Floyd, they want to call themselves JMW champs then they can deal with a MW calling them out.

 

He obviously just wants the big paydays against Pacquiao or Mayweather rather than fight bigger guys which will result in lesser paydays.

Just like Hagler wanting fights with Leonard, Hearns & Duran rather than go to LHW against Spinks and Qawi.

Yet Pac calls himself a 154lbs champion but is too small... for 154lbs? Logic fails.

 

How does he call himself that when he:
1. Gave up that title almost immediately
2. NEVER referred to himself as that to begin with
3. Actually weighed in UNDER the WW limit foe his JrMW fight.

170 is what Pavlik weighed for the Miranda and Taylor fights. At the mandatory 30 day weigh in before the Dzinzirik fight Martinez was 173. Pavlik usually weighed around 168-169 at that point. However, on ESB, Pavlik was a huge middleweight, but Martinez is a small middleweight. Don't try and figure that out. It will probably hurt your brain. I know it hurts mine!

 

I, for one, don't give a crap about the shitty 154 title he won. And from the looks of it, neither does he.

Pac's a small welterweight who has never weighed above 148 on fight night in his life. Whereas Martinez is a middleweight who comes to the ring at 168.

If Pac is big enough to fight Martinez, then Martinez is big enough to fight the super middleweights.

How on Earth does the 168lbs divison has anything to do with a fight between two fighters who held the WBC LMW belt last year?atsch

Oh and in case you missed, Martinez fought a Kelly Pavlik who was a cruiserweight on fight night. Does that qualify him for a Pacquiao showdown?
