Thats because he is an exciting fighter who goes in and fights...Rather than being a boring pot shotting douche who spends 90% of the fight running away.

JMM did bust Pac's ass, if u think Pac won then YDKSAB (yes i already know u dont)

B**ched i picked and bet Saildo and thats just one and he was a 5-1 underdog!! Anybody can pick favorites. and trust me im way past 50-50. im like 90-10. Only bet i've lost was Collazo in the last year.

Yeah theres some i picked i didnt bet but when i dont bet it, im not that confident. Money Talks!!

I've had Porter over Alexander, Saildo over Lomo (everybody was picking Lomo so i dont want to hear it) Porter over Pauile, broner over Pauile, Hopkins over Shumov, Garcia over Matthysse, so please, enough with the mouth.

Cotto might win, but its because Martinez is an injury plauged 40 year old whos a part time fighter these days. Had they fought when Martinez wanted the fight, Cotto wouldnt have made it to round 10, regardless of Sergios defense.

Martinez's defense was good enough to get him through paul williams twice and kelly pavlik.

Both of who would have stopped Miguel Cotto at his best.

Cotto has lost this fight before it even started,,..Excuses are all over the board as you can see. Very little credit will go to Cotto if he wins

There is a reason Cotto wanted no part of Martinez back when Martinez was challenging him.

Fighting people when they are ripe for the picking comes at a cost, and its that you dont get the credit you would get were they not 40 years old and looking vulnerable.

To cotto's credit, hes moving up, and also has seen better days. But hes far closer to his good form then Sergio is, and thats widely accepted by most in the boxing world.

Cotto is going to have to fight his heart out

And that means forget the bicycle

He has to go in with the mentality of kill (ko) or be killed (ko'ed)

He has to have the determination of margo 2 fight
The skills of the first half of the margo 1 fight
The aggression of the mayweather fight
The heart of the clottey fight
The chin of the Mosley fight
He has to fight like he's never fought before

Because regardless of martinez's defence, he will come to KO Cotto without a doubt and he has enough skills to do it

As for the issue of his defence

The guy smashed up Paul Williams, the first fight was close and he fought against a guy who throws/threw (get well soon PW) 1000+ Punches per fight

As much as I want cotto to win, I think he will get "Pacquiao'ed" and will be out much quicker

The fight might even ruin his possible fight with Canelo because the KO could wear him out even more and Alvarez will probably beat Cotto by KO too.

But I guess for 20+ million (in total) he ain't gonna worry too much

We also know if cotto decide to get in his bike ala pacman fight then Martinez will follow him around to finish him off, pacman was constantly looking at the ref to stop their fight becaus he is merciful towards his punching bags, but there is bad blood between cotto and Martinez

Paul Williams might not have stopped the best cotto but he would win a UD if his body holds up against the body shots

As for pavlik, can't really compare tbh

    Its all debatable :good

I think Paul Williams had too much pressure, power, and activity for Cotto to make it the distance the majority of the time should they have fought multiple times. But theres cases to be made for Cotto lasting 12, or even winning should Williams come in less than his best and Cotto is on point.

As for Pavlik, the reference was made to show that in this case, when discussing Martinez's 'horrible' defense, it was enough to see him through to a win over Pavlik a division above where he should have been fighting at that time. Meaning, its good enough to get the job done.

Just an observation, Sergio's 2 best KO's were Williams and Dzinziruk, both of which happened by him punching downward, they were bent in a odd position and he took advantage of that.

He could put all of his force behind and really sit down on those punches, since Cotto is a midget, Sergio will be sitting down on his punches all night.

That's true bro. PW's workrate was amazing. That last why his fight with margo was absolutely amazing fight demonstrating mad workrate from both guys (regardless of wraps issue)

Yes I see the Pavlik point. Mind you Sergio did get dropped, but there are also arguments Pav was suffering from his alcoholism so I believe he was weaker and not his best in that fight

Was PW KO a downwards KO? I'm gonna check that again

Was mad KO, I literally nodded off for a second (UK times) and BAAAAAMMMMMMM it was over and I seriously thought PW was gone

Also with dzinziruk, that guy was getting picked off all the fight. Kinda how I see cotto fight going
