IMO if you want to hold a middleweight belt and be considered the man you need to fight the man. This is the same **** that people criticize Wlad for not always fighting the best available guy.

Pirog is the best available guy at middleweight. It is a career high payday.

If Maravilla turns this fight down, it is a duck!!

I like Pirog in this match up.:yep

Pirog has some impressive skills, you cant deny it. If it is not a test than it is an easy payday for sexy sergio right?

This reminds me of something from the late 90's.

Michalczewski offers Jones Jr. a career high payday for a bout against him...

Not that bad. Pirog's last two fights were aired around noon in the States. HBO/Showtime wouldn't do that. If Sergio accepted the offer, Dibella should get a major network to show it, but that's just a pipe dream.

There was a time when champions used to travel around the world fighting other great fighters.

Just remembered what the ring was like in Pirog's last fight. Got real slippery and both fighters were falling from it. That alone would scare team Martinez.

Jacobs was not the best fighter that Pirog has beat by far. Plus he's a very seasoned fighter, he's ready for Martinez. You could see from Barker and Dzinziruk's previous fights that they offered nothing against Sergio. Pirog is easy to see, a different animal. Don't confuse opportunity with ability. Pirog hasn't had the opportunity to display against a famous opponent yet. Prior to Martinez's fight with Williams, people down played him a great deal.

lets face it...its a great fight that wont get made....one guy wants to be paid, the other wants to be paid and make a name for himself now...
cunningham vs huck II should have been made, or any of the cruisers unifying since haye left...no, they just feast on the highest ranked 16-2 guys to keep the belt and earn alot of smaller checks, than trying for a few big ones..
same with the heavyweights...no top 25 guys ever fight each other...some exceptions not many...waiting for the one time to cash in

sturm will fight pirog..he fears no man.....
    jk

its sad...all middleweight belts are claimed....and with martinez being the recgonized guy...you have at least 5 guys who are considered the best...if none fight each other...by default, they have to be fighting guys 6,7,8,9,10 in ranking (and that is a minumum guess)...because the champions would be considered the first 5... this guy sturm is fight next is rated at # 30 in the world...why sturm is at # 2
pathetic....thats when a world champion, simply isnt a world champion, because they aerent fighting the best in the world....not even close...
