No, that's completely incorrect. I don't have the inclination to explain this further at this time as I spent far to much time doing so when Cotto and Pacquiao fought for a welterweight world title.

i like the idea of Floyd fighting for the MW titles at a catchweight. On top of being an amazing accomplishment for Floyd, it would wake up the world to the fact that Pacquiao fighting for the his 7th title, the WW title, at 145 is an ATG accomplishment regardless of the catchweight. Title fights at catchweights have been happening for a long, long time, and it seems only now that Pacquiao has done it that people think its wrong. If Mayweather does it then I'm sure all those people will change their minds.

    two birds with one stone.

Great plan, but I'd rather go staight for Floyd-Maravilla. It's just a more competitive fight and I don't see Arum EVER putting Margarito in vs. an elite fighter NOT fighting under the Top Rank banner, unless he's cashing out, but that's not likely right now. I even think Arum would rather make Pac-Margarito at Cowboys than Pac-Floyd in Vegas given the odds and his pocket, and if that's the case, Floyd-Maravilla would be a simply amazing "plan B".

I defended Pacquiao tooth and nail when he took that fight at a catchweight. However, Mayweather fighting Martinez at a catchweight for the MW title is much different than Pac fighting Cotto at a catchweight for a WW title. Mayweather has never fought at MW before. He would be jumping two divisions. Also, Martinez has only fought at MW once, and has been fighting at JMW for several years. Pacquiao went up only 1 division to fight Cotto, he fought at the WW limit once before the Cotto fight, and Cotto hadn't fought below 147 in over 4 years. I had no real problem with Pac fighting that Cotto fight at a CW. However, I could easily see someone having a problem with that fight and not a problem with Mayweather fighting Martinez at a CW.

If PBF fights Martinez it should be at 154. I couldn't careless about the linear MW title.

Man, with decreased mobility at that weight for Floyd and Sergio's speed, movement, and jab...that's one tough fight for Mayweather. Very dangerous. Serious props to Floyd if he takes it.

I'd like to see a PW-Martinez rematch though and see the two best welters face off.

That is an insane Plan B. Talk about out of the frying pan and into the fire. Martinez should be the sole focus of a camp and fighter.

Props to Mayweather though if he does it. I would be more than happy with EITHER fight.

If he beats Martinez? There is NO DOUBT who the man is.

This is an insane match up I can believe mayweather would ever take this fight. If he does I think he'll be pushed like never before.
