Probably Martinez UD but Pirog has the potential to make him look really bad doing it. I really don't think Martinez is gonna KO him.

The middleweight division was dead as a door nail for a couple of years. It was dead because Taylor, Pavlik, and Abraham cleaned it out, and it had to go through a rebuilding phase.

That phase is over. In my opinion 160 is the division to watch next year, and Pirog is a guy to keep a close eye on. I'd like to see Pirog fight Sturm because I think he is the least threatening of "the big four." Even if Pirog lost, he would not get humiliated or take a bad beating. Sturm is not a guy who ruins fighters. Martinez, Williams, or Pavlik might ruin him if he isn't ready, and that would be a real shame.

WTF? Pirog...one flashy KO of a prospect and the fact that he is white does not a a world beater make .......I say this because its whats actually fueling the Pirog fantasies and aspirations of many here...as there is no other evidence for this kind of blind reverence here.

case in point if Pirog woudlve been the KO Victim in that fight you would hear scant **** about the winner IM sure....

this doesnt apply to everyone but it does for a good majority of the Pirog Orgiasts.

If anything he is underestimated because he is white.

'Speed kills' is a no-brainer, you could use in every argument. Jacobs however had plenty of speed and still got sparked and tried to apply pressure but Pirog was just too cagey. I say output, length and angles are more likely to trouble Dmitry, Martinez has the angles and reach, Williams has all 3. Of course speed & reflexes could further help Maravilla, but as said, it's a no-brainer and needs no rocket scientists to figure it out.

martinez will beat him all day long.

pirog has only been n there wth the now exposed jacobs.

martinez has shared a ring with margo, cintron, williams, pavlik, and gave a good account of himself in all the fights.

I hear what you're saying but people said the same thing when Martinez fought Williams. "he lost to the best guy he's faced in Marg and beat Bunema and Cintron, his has a padded record of Argentinian cab drivers. Paul kills him"

Skill is skill and Pirog has it and will be able to compete at that level vs Martinez, Pavlik, Williams in my opinion. Same way you could tell Martinez was going to be something special after his Bunema fight.

like someone said earlier, lets see him vs sturm. that would be interesting, if he wins that then ye he has something

Cool cool. I don't see Sturm taking him or Golovkin on though. Universum did hold back alot of guys like Golovkin, Erdei and Dzinziruk but i really question Sturm's willingness to fight legit competition. If he does i'd be suprised.

i would be shocked if the fight could be made.

if it did, i would favour sturm to jab his way to victory.

pirog vs chavez jr would be a very good fight to watch.

infact prog should target a mid level opponent like angulo or mora. if he proves a class above then he will have come a very long way in a very short time.
