He's got outrageous heart, he took it all and still fired back. Made a fan of me last night, was very impressed by his skill and heart.
To be fair, if he clinched after the first shot like most boxers, this fight would probably be a shutout and none of his haters would dare to mention a rematch. But still, what a display. Sergio is awesome.
Not sure if that's an negative exaggeration to say that he only got hit '5' times!! (I'm sure I saw him get at 'least' 6 times!). Or are you just trying to belittle his achievement battering a much bigger opponent for almost the entire fight?
He fought because he had to, not because he wanted to.... he got caught & was hurt, once he was knocked down he was tired & his legs were not able to help him employ the hit & move game that he had been doing before getting caught.... he did however show great heart by trading when he could have clinched, I agree there.
Great heart from Martinez. Chavez Jr was well above the LHW division in terms of lbs, he is only success came by way of his size. It's really not a fair thing for a guy to be that big against a MW, especially one who was not too long ago a fighting MWjr. What's the point of weight classes, honestly? imagine Pac fighting Andre Ward lol, this is what happened with Martinez vs Chavez jr. Honestly, a person of Chavez caliber would not have had that success if he was Martinez size, he wouldve got KO'd sometime in the fight.
