Interesting you should say that. Ya know, Tommy Hearns said Ray would have always beat Hagler at any point of their careers simply because he was "better". Before Hagler - Leonard Hearns may as well have had a crystal ball. He said Hagler wouldn't come out like he did against himself and that he'd never do that again. He actually picked the massive underdog Leonard, saying he was the better boxer and knew how to think in the ring, saying also Hagler has trouble against guys that know how to box. Even more interesting was his comment that Ray would have most problems when Hagler was in left hand mode, but that Hagler would be made for Leonard when fighting as a right hander. Hearns may as well have had a crystal ball :shock:
That's true, he would've bulked up, but in '87 he'd had a few years to grow naturally into the weight, rather than doing it in the space of a few months & possibly losing some sharpness. Anyway that was only one of my reasons :hey
