    Thank you.

Hagler, who wanted Michael Spinks to come down to meet him, would wave off any Jack Johnson proposition.

    Johnson doesn't stand a chance.

For starters he wasn't even around when colour television was which naturally weakens his muscle fibers.

Couple that with the fact Hagler was in adverts and Johnson is as good as dead.

Seamus, you are right. After all Jack Johnson who was born in 1878,would
have been about 90 years of age against Hagler. :hi::hi:

Absolutely. Hagler was much tougher than Ketchel and 5x as skilled. Ketchel's skill level is below tough man level on the two films that exist of him being in the ring. Since he lost every round and was taken out in 12, I think Hagler for sure could do better.

It is well documented here ( but not by boxing media types ) that Johnson had trouble with super middleweights. See Choynski who Ko'd him, O'Brien who according to reports was even with or better by a small margin in a 6 round fight, and Ketchel who floored Johnson. Joe Jeanette claimed he was in the 160 pound range when he drew with Johnson and beat him via DQ.

Johnson beats Hagler more than likely inside the distance. That'd be because Johnson was a lightheavyweight and Hagler was a middleweight. Sorry :nut

I would agree with you on that. And look how they did. Neither of them were ever considered to be the heavyweight champion and couldn't establish any sort of dominance.

It's evolution. Changes in the environment (bigger men with talent) caused the 180lbs heavyweight champion to go extinct.

Yeah, but look at the difference in outcomes. Fitzsimmons and Corbett were very competitive; Spinks and Patterson were simply demolished.

Yeah, and how. His punch resistance was completely gone, he got dominated and KO'd by a mediocre, light-hitting LHW. He killed himself to go down in weight and make some kind of point. At any rate, not a convincing one.

You're denying that men have grown bigger and bigger over the course of the 20th century?

This is yet another ridiculous argument - lets be honest it looked like Johnson could've killed Ketchel (literally) in about 1 minute if it had been a real fight as opposed to a pretend fight - considering Ketchel was one of the toughest fighters ever at middleweight and plus a biggish middleweight at that - and he would've been in seriously danger of being hurt if that has been a genuine fight an even smaller Hagler would've been similarly crushed by a big heavyweight like Johnson - Johnson was almost ko'ing Ketchel by accident - this no contest its silly that people are even considering this a fight let alone one that Hagler would even seriously consider haha

Johnson scaled around 172lbs for the Choynsky fight

In one of the Jeannette three rounders, Johnson had Jeannette on the floor three times in the opening round.
Johnson had allready fought another opponent that night.

Four and a half months after drawing with Johnson ,Jeannette weighed 185lbs against Sam McVey.

Johnson easily won the first round in their dsq bout ,but was declared the loser via a disputed foul in the the second round, so what exactly does this prove? Ive posted the fight reports several times.

Jeannette is full of **** and so are you .
New Year, same bull****. I guess , " once a hater ,always a hater". Johnson would toy with Hagler, as he did with Ketchel.
