This would be a hard fight for marvin, carter stopped future all time great emile griff in a round, and beat jimmy ellis who went on to become heavyweight champion, this would be marvins hardest test besides tommy hearns, sugar ray and duran, carter is very underrated and would take it to 2 marvin, but i think hagler out boxes him and wins on points

I think a MW Carter is more formidable than both a MW Hearns and Duran. Really Leonard too, but I don't think a prime Hagler would've struggled that much with Leonard in the first place. Carter was a very good boxer-puncher with more bone-crunching power and all the physical assets to match Hagler. Hagler's edges are in his footwork and counter-punching ability. That's what would see him out-box Carter down the stretch, and eventually start to wear him down. I see Carter lasting the distance though, and making a very competitive fight out of it.

Hagler wins more than likely by a UD....Ruben was strong....and i think Marvin is content to box and move and avoid the conflict of a slugfest after feeling Rubens power, although he rocks Ruben a few times
