Marvin Sonsona v Wilfredo Vazquez Jr.

At first I'm concerned as Vazquez does look good on paper.

But since Puertorricane said so, hey I like Sonsona's chances.

 

And what exactly was Sonsona's amateur experience?

 

Age is not a a factor in this fight. Vazquez lacks experience but has a great "teacher" at home. Sonsona is very young but has demostrated incredible talent. This will be a great fight. I am keepin my finger crossed for my homebuy Vazquez. This will be a tough fight.

I mean are we seriously trying to argue who is much more prepared for a fight like this? Really?

 

good thread with some good info its refreshing to see real boxing threads about real fights on here rather than the hero worship of the top fighters

sounds like sonsona has the edge with not having to cut weight and the amateur experience although Vazquez has the hometown advantage

can anybody put forth a good argument that Vazquez is going to win?

 

I like how both fighter's fans are very tentative about picking their own guy in this one.

Pinoys saying Sonsona looks liked **** in his last fight,and is jumping up 2 weight classes for this fight.

Boricuas saying Vasquez is nothing special and lacks a lot of experience.

Havent seen the fight but im willing to bet he probably looked **** because he was weight drained. Explains him jumping up 2 weight divisions. The guy is 5'7, pretty tall for a flyW.

Most Filipino champs try to avoid fighting each other, if possible.

Regional/national champs, that's alright, but world champs, not really.

Anyway, there are dozens other world boxing organizations/title belts out there to be won, so why try and "steal" a belt from a countryman?

 

Solid test for Sonsona. Puerto Rican is a son of a legend so boxing is in his blood-jnr is strong. I am sure jnr has done a bit of boxing since he was a tot being a son of a pr Boxing legend and all.Same with julio ceasar chaves jnr it's Bs he hasn't had some boxing growing up.

 

unfortunately I don't see this one at the Greek or Sportsbetting too bad, hopefully it goes up and Sonsona is good value.
