did maskaev have a hair transplant? he has a full head of hair again... maybe that's why he didn't fight for 15 months (he had a "surgery" - remember?)!

Both guys should be at least 5 pounds less.

Peter looked decent at 249 vs Toney, but suspect vs MCcline at 250.

Maskeav looked decent at 235-240 in his last three fights, but 243 is pushing it for him.

What do these weight means? Nothing early, perhaps everything late.

Peter isn't the type to score late round KO's, but if Maskeav fades, I think he will get to him, unless Maskaev makes Peter respect his power.

    Man are you kidding?

For all Sam Peters failings, he has got to be the strongest man in boxing. The dude has a 24" neck:lol:

I dare say that I dont remember having seen a sharper Maskaev. I also dare say that Peter isnt in the shape he should be. He got away with a warning last time, now he might be in for some trouble.

Imho Maskaev just needs the fight to go past 4 rounds, Peter needs luck for the home-run punch.

Ow, and surely Oleg can get Sam out of there. He knows his ways with tired fighters as we have seen before

This is a hard fight to pick...I think Peter will have the power but can he land the telling shots.....Maskaev will box well but can he ko Peter...I dont think so ...Peter by late ko.

    Peter 250? :-( Not good.

Peter's manager and trainer are partially responsible for this. They never made Peter do any road work.

Peter admitted he never did any running as a part of his training regiment until he fought Toney the second time. WTF! He certainly didn't look like he did any serious training when he fought McCline, and by his weight being 250 I doubt he did any hard training now.

Peter is just over 6'0" and he's lugging around 250 pounds. He's fifteen pounds over from where he should be.

Well-- Two of those KD's were from foul punches. Peter was 243 pounds, and at his best vs Wlad. It wasn't enough. Will Peter ever see 243 again in the ring? Not liekely. Since the Wlad fight, Peter has regresses, while Wlad has gotten better.

If they meet again, Wlad will knock him out.

I have heard from people connected to boxing that Peter has trouble focusing and getting motivated to reach his ideal weight. While Peter is a big boned and thick man, I agree with you. His ideal / best weight is between 235-240.

Maskaev looks like he has put on some muscle mass, so his wheight gaining is not all bad. Not the same with Peter, who looks fatter then he did against MCcLine.

Both fighters are natural 235lbs athletes, natural large boxers, so, in fact, we are talking 8lbs overwheight for Maskaev and 15lbs for Peter, not that much considering it's the HW division.

That would explain the extra weight gain for Maskaev ;)

I think Maskaev wins a Decision. He has more skills. Peter can't rely on his power because he has yet to KO a top 25 Heavyweight.

I think this fight will end like Darnell Wilson vs. Shannon Briggs...With Oleg as Wilson and Peter as Briggs.

But Peter's bandwagon was derailed long ago, and Oleg never really had one. :yep
