Haha thanks! Nah seriously, were going to have to disagree - just the same as I enjoy watching a Lower league football team at Wembley in the Johnstones paint trophy. Truth is the system of titles is a shocker but the masters (not silver & bronze or such like) have worth. If only to help small hall promoters sell a show (a lot would of flunked without these tbh) And as I say - it's harming no one if joe bloggs from Lancaster is calling him self the middleweight British masters champion, whereas if he's calling himself the British masters flip fop bronze title then it's a mess.
I disagree with this decision, I can see both sides of the coin, but I believe journeymen, and fringe British class fighters have the hardest sporting 'job' in the UK, and deserve a masters title to aspire to. Yes it should be regulated better so people defend it, and their not used as a pass the parcel, but it should be kept. Also as someone rightly mentioned these belts help promote the kudos of small hall shows and sell more tickets. I think these two reasons more than out weight any negatives of having these belts available.
:huh A step-graded system of recognition doesn't equate to "everybody's a winner". There is a hierarchy in place which for the most part clearly defines the expected quality at each level. Odd straw man argument.
Exactly ! And the fact is you'd be unlikely to find the likes of Joshua, Campbell, cal smith and so on fighting for a masters title - for two reasons - 1 they are much more likely to achieve greater goals 2 they are much more likely to sell a lot of tickets without the titles Whereas your lesser known fighters, maybe those without the "0" on they're records may be stumped at either of the above,.

So this is definitely happening? I just stumbled across the Houghton-le-Spring card on BoxRec today poking around to see if there was any televised boxing. (this one isn't - though it does have a few names of mild repute such as Martin Ward - that is, the southpaw bantamweight Martin Ward, not Martin J. Ward the Olympian) The main event was for a Masters Bronze flyweight title. Shocking to imagine that might be among the last of 'em.
I don't think many these pro's fighting for masers titles will be botered to be honest. Everybody even the casuals know that it is a con.
