I very much doubt that Mitrione will even get into a position where he is seriously considered as a title contender. He may fluke a title shot (ala Sonnen-Bones) but it would end horribly for him.

Kongo beat him and Big Country stopped him and only one of them could even be considered top ten.

Mitrione is athletic and fair play to him, he's getting in there. But, seriously, what makes you think that Mitrione will ever be able to beat any of the top tier heavyweights? Because I have not seen anything from him that suggests
he will ever be a contender.

Let's face it, he's beat no-one of any significance and I doubt he ever will.

I'd like to see Mitrione fight Big Foot and if you don't think he would beat Silva then how the hell is he supposed to clean out the division?

 

Mitrione has beaten nothing but cans. The two times he fought decent/legit opposition he was very easily beaten.

 

I'm not even sure there are many if any HW's left in the UFC that he can beat. I could see him landing on Schaubs glass jaw, but if he doesn't catch Schaub early he would lose a decision as Schaub is a much better fighter. He should be matched against either Geronimo dos Santos or Rothwell next, those are really the only guys he has a good shot at beating.

 

NAh Rothwell knocks him out IMO

 

I think he would probably lose as well. but those lower tier guys along with Schaub are the only guys he has a decent shot at beating.
