The highlights of their first bout were on youtube. Maybe someone took them down. The consensus is that Saad was robbed badly in the first fight. He certainly seemed to be winning on the highlights reel.

But a rematch, I think, would have turned out differently. Eddie really got his act together after the first fight (aside from the Scott loss). He stepped up his offensive capability while maintaining his airtight defense.

Given how easy Saad was to hit (perhaps needlessly), I'm thinking that a peak Eddie Mustafa would have beaten him, maybe by stoppage.

If you watch their first fight Saad ( then Franklin ) was winning till Eddie really tagged him and turned the fight over ... If both brought their A game Eddie was simply better but Eddie very rarely brought his A game .. anything less and Saad wins ..

I think Sadd would have out worked Mustafa..(pre '81) in a close fight. but as others have said, if Eddie came in focused, it would have been hard for Sadd to beat him....But given his overall better consistancy. The pick here is Sadd Muhammad by decision.

At their best I'd favor Eddie but in a series I'd go with Saad. I've seen the highlights though I don't take much from them due to not seeing the whole fight. Love Saad and it's unfortunate I might not see the whole fight but from what I did see he was the definition of a warrior. Feel like he doesn't get enough recognition, he deserves it. Guy was class in and out of the ring.
