Raw strength, power and sheer toughness, Saad was superior. But Spinks had it on him in every other department. Spinks was too fast, too good of a boxer, his footwork, speed, defense, and his snappy powerful blows combined would prove too much in the end. Spinks could either win by decision or KO, depending on how cautious Mike fought, and what version of Saad showed up. The depleted by all the wars version gets stopped, whereas the more frisky live version - well, Spinks would probably taste some of that freakish pop and strength, and see that Saad kept coming and firing hard even after nailing him good, and then Spinks would cautiously outbox him and win a decision.

Didn't see those responses; no, Spinks was not on a higher level. Compare their 175lb ring records and watch them. Spinks was more clinical, Saad more hittable,. but the fact Miracle Matthew was that good without being the ring general Mike was (some good instances of jabbing from him, e.g Lopze I) shows he was as good IMO.

Spinks top 5 at 175 ATG/Saad just inside/outside top ten. Splitting hairs at that level.

Saad was an excellent fighter with a heart as big as an arena. In his prime, before he was affected by all his wars, he would have given a tough fight to any fighter there ever was.

However, Spinks seemed damn near impervious to any light-hvy's punches. He fought some big punchers at that weight and was never decked or even really staggered. He has too many guns, height-reach advantage and that jab was a killer. Spinks by late round stoppage or decision.

They Sparred once and supposedly Spinks got the better. At there best in a 15 round bout I'll go with Saad. You know Spinks was having a hard time with both Lopez and Johnson before stopping them.

Saad had superb power but i could never label him above Spinks. Spinks was a legitimate one punch ko artist power wise, with either hand.

Wow, I don't like this match up at all. I have always been a big Franklin phan...But I don't think Miricle Matt, had miricles this big??? I think Spinks takes him out...and It aint pretty!

If going to the Philly Well, I would probably give Loughran a better shot, and don't think I would pick him either?
