He swung wildly a bunch of times when Peterson didn't even move. There was one where Peterson calmly took a simple step back and Matthysse swung and miss wildly twice. He did it too many times to a guy not known for defense. If he fights like that against Mayweather, he'd look silly for 12 rounds.

Say what you want on the Internet but Floyd will never fight Matthysse ever

The point that some are trying to make by this hypothetical is quite stupid. Yes, Matthysse looses, but no, it doesn't take away from his absolute beastness.

i think floyd outboxes him. pederson did a lot of things to help get himself knocked out, things floyd isnt going to do. floyd has enough pop to where lucas isnt going to just push his way into punching range and he doesnt have the legs to put himself there when floyd backs up.

I think the size difference would play a large role, Floyd's got the size and he knows how to use it. I would imagine Floyd would play the role of spoiler, picking his punches from a distance and effectively smothering any Lucas's work inside. That said, Matthysse's power is a true wild card, no matter who he's up against.

Petterson had a very good first round, but once he felt a bit Matthysse's power he panicked and completely abandoned his outside game. Against Floyd there will be no panic.

I agree entirely, Lucas has got the skill to set up and open up any fighter. The thing is that Floyd is not just any fighter, Floyd's distance control would be to much for Matthysee. Floyd UD 12

floyd doesnt have one punch ko power but he has "freeze your neurons for a second" kind of pop. and thats all he needs to be somewhere else when you become lucid again. if he sits on his punches, he can hurt you, but that requires risk.

Floyd could stay in the pocket and beat him with ease
