If Foreman could deck Frazier 8x, him and Carnera would make for a very fun fight. Instead of "Down goes Frazier!", you would have a monotonous commentator saying: "Down goes Carnera... i think that was the eighteenth time. Someone should stop this!... before we all fall asleep."

Watch the Frazier fight again. Joe bobbed and weaved after beeing down and managed to get rescued by round 2. Carnera is a stationary target, his defense is wiggling his arms in front of him like dealing with a swarm of flies. If Carnera will be dropped by George early in a round, this will be ugly.

You could make the same argument against Shavers. Stopped in 1 round by Quarry, dropped for a 9 count en route to being defeated by Bob Stallings, defeated by a sick and aging Muhammad Ali. But we know based on common opponents testimonies they were both among the hardest punchers. Baer killed three men in the ring. Though Baer, did have that amazing punching power he failed to show it in results as you've shown above. It was because he lacked the skills and attributes, that Foreman and Liston among others had. One of them being killer instinct. After he killed a man in the ring, he never really hit someone with full power again and never really went all out on Carnera after he had him hurt despite dropping him eleven times. Similarly I'd argue that Cleveland Williams hit harder than Liston despite going the distance multiple times with men Liston stopped in the first round because of similar reasons.

    I know these stories.
I also don´t care who hit harder on the bag or whatsover.
But like you said, he absolutely failed to show what some on here want him to be.

For example, how is he a "harder puncher" than Louis ? Its not like these guys next to Schmeling were not hittable.

    Levinsky? Louis in 1.
Schmeling with proper training for revenge? Shot into pieces in 1.
Carnera? Louis did in in half the time.
Galento? Dropped as soon as round 2, stopped in 4.

Baer had Comiskey for what "he should look like", for the rest i don´t see it.
Forman and Liston would brutalize some of the guys he fought even quicker.

Hang on. Baer killed Cambell. He pounded Schaaf, who died after fighting Carnera, but was essentially killed by Baer. #3?

No one wants to admit that Max Baer hit as hard as their precious modern day heavyweights.

Be serious....if Lewis/Vitali were in black and white you would say they were unskilled oafs who would get train wrecked by Tyson Fury.

I agree, Baer hit extremely hard but he wasn't as good as them. It's simple.

For sheer power Baer may have hit as hard or harder than Foreman and Liston, but they were better more skilled punchers, so got their opponents when in trouble out of their quicker.
    It’s simple really.

Roberto Davilla lasted distance with Foreman while having 11 lbs disadvantage (203 lbs)
Levi Forte lasted distance with Foreman while having 16 lbs disadvantage (199 lbs).
Peralta lasted total of 25 rounds while being below 200 lbs in both fights and having 20 lbs disadvanatge in second fight.
Jimmy Young lasted the distance with Foreman while having 16 lbs disadvantage and he lost one third of his fights.
LHW Qawi lasted 7 rounds with Foreman.

You can make anyone look bad from this perspective. It's ridiculous argument.
