    Toney was a dominant middleweight and super middle. Duran dominated the lightweight division. Their ‘flashes’ later in their careers were at higher weights and that’s a whole different kettle of fish.

    Walcott’s entire career was a wilderness until his mob-tied boss got him an undeserved extra chance at a title fight right after he lost one. And that ‘peak’ didn’t last very long. Not quite the same.

    In 1998 ring magazine rated Charles # 11 all time at heavyweight and Max Schmeling at #19. At light heavyweight Charles was ranked #1 where as Schmeling wasn’t even in the top 20. Charles resume of good wins is much deeper.
