Hmm? the man knocked out Joe Louis. I don't see anyone of that caliber on these guys resume. That Max"s victory total would be between 12-3 to 10-5 against that bunch. He'd box the living jaws off two thirds of them

I don’t have him winning many of these. He def wins some of them but I can see him losing most.

I'll take Max in all accept

    Charles
    Lyle
    Morrison
    Tua
    Ike
Maybe Patterson (obviously a toddler has a punchers chance here tho)

Indeed, I can find very little if any common ground with some people here.

How the hell did he get as far as he got if he can't beat most of these people?

    Ezzard Charles (1950) Max
    Joe Walcott (1951) JJW
    Floyd Patterson (1960) Max
    Ron Lyle (1976) Max (EASY)
    Gerry Cooney (1982) Max
    Tim Witherspoon (1983) Max
    Pinklon Thomas (1984) Thomas
    Trevor Berbick (1986) Max
    Frank Bruno (1989) Max
    Tommy Morrison (1991) Max
    Oliver McCall (1994) Max
    David Tua (1997) Max
    Ike Ibeabuchi (1997) Ike
    Shannon Briggs (1998) Max?
    Luis Ortiz (2018) Max

Max 11-3 in one off fights
More than likely 7-7 or worse if a gauntlet

Edit: of those 11 wins I have I think all/most are very close tough fights that could swing a myriad of ways, this is just who I would favor off the top of my head

I find it interesting that you favor Schmeling a lot, but you pick Thomas to beat him.

    Is that a styles thing?

TBF I was actually thinking of Carl Williams in my mind, when making that pick for some reason got the 2 confused. This (pinklon) is another tough fight I could see swinging either way. The Thomas that beat weaver and Spoon would still be a tough fight. No I would not pick Thomas now that I have figured out who I am looking at lol. To lazy to change or edit my previous post

And Sharkey was possibly robbed against him.

He might pull off the Patterson, Berbick and Shannon the Cannon if he stays out of harm's way 15 seconds a round.

Is it possible that all pre-Louis era heavies were just trash compared to subsequent heavies?

There certainly seems to be growing momentum for this opinion.
