Mayorga is a former WW champ and has said that is the weightclass he is best suited for. Cotto fights at WW. Taylor is admittingly too big for Middleweight and has moved to 168lbs :deal

    What are you missing?

Well, Cotto is a top 10 p4p fighter; Taylor is not a Top 15 p4p fighter. One would expect Cotto to fight better opponents. Also, Taylor is coming off two loses, so needs a tune up. Why would Cotto need a tune up against a shot Mayorga after dispatching Judah and a very good Mosley? Cotto should fight MAYWEATHER!

Decebal my man... you dont see the differance between cotto, a 147lber... fighting Mayorga, who is his same exact size, if not bigger...

and Taylor... former middle champ and current super middleweight fighting him?

Not even comparable. Mayorga is a respectable opponent for a non champion opponent for cotto after he gets done with margarito.

Mayorga is totally UNacceptable for Taylor any way you slice it.

Mayorga is f-i-n-s-h-e-d! He ain't good at any weight against a world class opponent. Sorry!

Bad for Taylor at 168, yeah! But maybe Taylor is REALLY lacking in confidence - he just wants to beat up a bag...I don't condone this fight, though, as I said before...I think it's a rotten fight...a disgraceful fight!

...but I certainly don't condone Cotto fighting this guy at WW either. Taylor needs a lift; Cotto doesn't. He's on top of the world and he needs to fight proper opponents. Taylor maybe just wants a tune up to get his confidence back.

No... id bet you JT IS in the top 15 p4p.. i will go look after this post.

Regardless... Mayorga at 147 is still a good win at this point, hes the former undisputed champion.

Doesnt matter where your opponent is ranked, fighting a guy 3 or 4 divisions below you is absurd.

If Taylor cant find a gimme fight out of any super middles or middles... then he needs to pack it in. There are plenty of fighters out there who fit that bill.

im suprised im not hearing about Ouma 2

I agree - no way should Taylor fight a former WW, a shot one, to boot!

Mayorga is finished at any weight...honestly...I know you are a fan and I know he was amazing in his prime, but now...he's gone...he's finished big time, however high they rate him.

Mayorga would be a good opponent for Taylor. Jermain just lost against Pavlik and this seems like a good fight for coming back. Money, names, easy fight, etc.

The other option for Mayorga was Cotto. What the **** is Cotto thinking? Cotto just beat Mosley.

Ok... even MORE of a reason taylor should get blasted for fighting him

Again... if he cant find a bag that even a true MIDDLEWEIGHT.... let alone a super middle... then hes got serious problems. There is no way you can cut this to where its an ok fight. I dont care HOW lacking Taylor is. Fighting mayorga is out of line... and again, doesnt compare squat with cotto fighting mayorga.

Tune up against a guy at least 2 natural division close to his weight then... he doesnt need to bring in a guy who should be fighting at 147 or 154... to fight him at super middleweight. doesnt matter how bad he needs a confidents boost. Fight a bag his own size... or at LEAST a middleweight.

Cotto cant fight Mayorga as a soft touch at 147.... when he will have already beaten Quintana, Margarito, Judah, Mosley, and gomez?

Cintron will be recovering from Margarito and in no line for a fight, Williams will be on the comeback trail from Quintana, and Mayweather will be getting ready for oscar.

    That leaves out

    Margarito
    Cintron
    Williams
    Mosley
    Judah
    Mayweather
    Quintana
    Gomez

so for an end of the year fight he cant take on mayorga?

    thats ridicoulas.

Are you kidding me?? Taylor has fought world class fighters in his last seven or so bouts and you come here with that?? Think before you speak.

I agree with you about everything when you say Mayorga v. Taylor doesn't make sense - it is a ridiculous match-up!

If Cotto needs to take on Mayorga after "going through hell" against Gomez...there is something wrong with Cotto...Gomez ain't IT, is he?:huh

Mayorga is not in to win it, he's just looking for two more paydays...that's all.

why would cotto being going through hell with gomez? nobody is saying that... its just that... when every other major player at 147 is eather beaten or recovering, like i showed they would be... outside of ONE guy and that would be clottey... who i would agree should fight cotto before mayorgas name is even mentioned, but fighting mayorga after already beating everyone else, and with the other elites on the path back... i dont see the huge problem there.

but anyways... im outta here. to each their own... (but im right :D :D :good  )

You are right...except that there is no guarantee Cotto is fighting Margarito...just like there is no guarantee Mayweather will fight Cotto; promoters always sell **** fights promising fans they're just tune ups for something better - doesn't always happen!

Look at Mayweather - he was supposed to fight Cotto after DLH...but no...he fought Hatton. He was supposed to fight Cotto after Hatton, but no...he's fighting DLH again.
