Pac has did more for boxing than Floyd has, Pac deserves the respect of his decisions meanwhile Floyd still has to earn his respect in the ATG ratings by facing some potentially first L giving opponents.
Floyd has been off for 18 months, should he jump straight into fighting Shane and cotto? Cant be serious here, i guess nobody would have had a problem if Floyd would have fought Gomez or Jennings in his first fight back since those guys seem like credible opponents.
he wasn't forced of course but who is a better tune up then JMM where floyd can test his timing and accuracy against a great counter puncher. If he were to fight a big WW like clottey he would just hone his pot shot skills which he would not do if he fight Pac bc Pac is quick on his feet. Floyd would need his counter punching to be sharp for pac.
When Manny fought Oscar i was afraid for him because Oscar is much larger than him but i should not have worryed:yep
Your point is absurd, and the logic behind it is non-existent. Using your previous analogy, I could say that Pavlik would have no appreciable size advantage over Calderon if they were to fight at Middleweight because they can both make 160. For the vast majority of of fighters size matters. Some can handle cutting weight better than others, and a select few have the freakish skills and/or power to compete effectively against much larger men, but size is always a factor.
They are both ATGs. As this point in time floyd still have a better career than Pac but Pac definitely accomplish more given his size. Pac fought a lot of faded fighters. Oscar was worse condition than when floyd fought him, hatton is about the same but is still after floyd, Erik came down from 180lbs and close to retirement. Barrera is a great win. Soto is a great win in prime. Floyd fought p4plber and future p4plbers early in his career.
Really? Thats great. Bc I have also heard that Arum is seeking cotto and shane wants to fight pac on another boxing site that i won't state.
'Keeping in mind my posts before, explain why fight-night weight means anything. Quit ducking my point.' IT MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE. A fighter coming into the fight weighing 156 is going to be much more powerful than someone coming in a 140. Both can make the 140 at the weigh-in but that's due to de-hydration before the fight. One fight night the bigger man will re-hydrate and have much more power than the smaller guy!!!
You mean this analogy: "I've said this before and I'll say it again, fight night weight is irrelevant. Sam Soliman weighed 158lbs on fight night against Winky Wright - do you think he could make light-middleweight? What about DLH against Pacquiao, how much weight did he put on on fight night? About 2lbs. Yet he was as drained as ****. It means nothing. NOTHING. Mosley can make 147, therefore he's a welterweight. End of." If so then it's the ability to get down to a weight that matters. Of course Pavlik would have the advantage, still makes Pavlik a middleweight though. Just because a fighter doesn't put on much weight on fight night, doesn't mean they can get down to the division below. If PBF can't make 140, than he's a 147 fighter, yes?
Which has just as much to do with training methods and ill-disicpline between fights as anything else.
Fight night weight interprets how much the fighter weighs normally being hydrated and all. A fighter Floyd who jumps weigh and doesn't put on weigh can eat whatever he wants make weight and put two pounds of water weigh but he wins by SKILL not size. Fighter like Maragartio would walk around 170 hydrate and go to unhealthy circumstances to cut water weigh and to make weight on weigh in being dehydrated like hell so he can put back his water weight on fight night and be HUGE. He purpose put on a lot of muscle to get size advantage bc he wins by size.
